Super impressed with the good vibes and absolutely delicious treats! We got the almond tuille cookies lavender lemonade and a raspberry cream danish ~ omg. So good. Like, I’d drive 30min for this stuff. The tuille cookies are AMAZING! I got a tour of the shop and loved everything. Will be back for sure!

[ ] Ham and cheese pocket- good, but after eating the jalapeno popper this one was kind of lackluster.
[ ] Jalapeno popper pocket- very tasty, good kick, excellent pastry. Both pockets had a great pastry. I’d get this one again.
[ ] Carrot cake scrappie- Whitney seemed to enjoy this. She ate the entire thing so it couldn’t have been bad!
[ ] Apple hazelnut snack cake with toffee buttercream- don’t need again. Didn’t carry a ton of flavor.
[ ] Lemon gingersnap molasses cookie – so good! I didn’t get a ton of lemon but the zippy lemon glaze complimented the cookie so well. If absolutely get this again.
[ ] Caramel cinnamon roll- good cinnamon roll. Not the best we’ve had but very enjoyable. I’d get another.
[ ] Choc chip cookie – good cookie. Nothing earth shattering but worth getting.

We are in love. Stopped by on our way to Astoria. I have to be honest, I can’t remember what the name of the pastry I ate, but they had a cream cheese & raspberry filling with a flaky crust.
While my husband threw down a few Cannolies. This cute little shop is a frequant morning trip now.

Unbelievable baked goods. We were driving through Rainier and stopped by.
It took a moment to take it all in. So many beautiful options.
We started with cheese straws which were so flaky and flavorful. We settled on a variety of sweet and savory goods, all so delicious. We’ll definitely go back for more.

Finally a five star bakery near Kelso!! Triple five star ⭐️ bakery owners were more than pleasant the baked goods are just what you would expect from a fine bakery. They kept the prices down compared to the “city”
Love the small town bakery vibe it had going also.

I can’t rave enough about this place.

I was gifted a Guinness stew pot pie for Pi Day by a coworker. (Aww yay!) I took it home and baked it per instructions and almost didn’t want to share! (Even though it’s huge and will feed two adults.)
Seriously the best savory pie I’ve ever had in my life. No chef, no mom —even my own— ever came close to this delicacy.

So of course we had to go to Rainier.

It’s a welcoming and happy place. Easy parking. My bf had to get a pic on the “stick of butter” seats. So cute! (Yes, both 🙂
The people are super nice and friendly, eager to please, and play up each others’ strengths when complimented.

Everything we bought was amazing. The lemon pie was almost as dense as a cheesecake, so beware! This is practically a meal by itself! He loved it. The local honey is what you always wished honey tasted like. The bear claws—don’t get me started! And my favorite sweet thing there- the hand pies. Holy smokes! New level unlocked.

If you go in there and wonder “should I try this?” Yes. You won’t be disappointed. Whatever it is. Yes.

The Guinness Beef Stew Pot Pie is not only the greatest Pot Pie I’ve ever eaten, it’s one of the few times that food has brought me to tears. better than almost any dining experience I ever had in my many years as a chef in Portland.

Service was prompt and courteous with an air of appreciation for customers (a rarity in the town of Rainier for sure)

A friendly, homey atmosphere with an abundace of products that had me want to continue shopping.
This place is really great and I hope them many more years of continued success

We just moved to town about two and a half weeks ago. Between packing, unpacking, and questioning all my life choices, I was exhausted and very much not cooking. Someone mentioned a bakehouse downtown—cue angels singing—except… it was closed. Tragic.

BUT! It opened the very next day. So my three minis and I marched ourselves down there immediately, and with that said, I’m fairly certain I am now one of their first customers every single Thursday morning. It’s basically a tradition at this point.
I’m terrible with names, but I will always remember Brien—mostly because he’s usually the one ringing me up and witnessing my complete inability to choose just one thing.
Where do I even begin? Everything bagel bruschetta bombs. Cheese straws (my absolute FAVORITE). Cream cheese strudels. Snickerdoodles. Handmade hand pies. Fresh bear claws. And my current obsession: jalapeño cheddar sour bread so warm it’s still steaming. I mean… come on.
All silliness aside, this bakery clearly pours their heart and soul into every single baked good—and you can taste it. Everything is fresh, thoughtfully made, and dangerously delicious.
I tell myself I can’t come every Thursday… but let’s be honest, it’ll probably be pretty close.

And before I forget—seasonal goodies! If you don’t want to bake at home, they’ve got you covered with Christmas cookie boxes, pies you can take home, homemade pot pies, and so much more. The list truly goes on, my friends.

Do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll be supporting local, meeting genuinely lovely people, and leaving with baked goods that will absolutely ruin you for anything store-bought. Highly recommend.

The Columbia Bakehouse is, without a doubt, the best bakery in the entire county. Their bread is excellent—freshly made in-house—and their pastries highlight local ingredients combined with top-tier culinary skill. The result is a selection of delicious, beautiful treats one would expect to find in a Parisian shop.

Functioning as both a pâtisserie and a boulangerie, this bakery is one of Columbia County’s best-kept secrets. The owners are warm, generous, and truly deserving of their outstanding reputation (as well as their frequent sellouts!).

A must-stop if you are anywhere in the area.
