My party was all from out of town/state, and none of us had eaten at this establishment before tonight. I don’t think making reservations is necessary, but we did call ahead of time to make one. Because of this, they had our phone number. With the terrible weather, they called us to check if we were still coming. They stayed open just for us, otherwise they would’ve closed the restaurant early.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and gave us good explanations to our questions about different menu items. The fried rice was just okay, but the pho, banh mi, rice vermicelli bowls, and the grilled pork chop broken rice platter were all phenomenal. Their fish sauce is the best I’ve had at any Vietnamese restaurant. The Vietnamese egg rolls were good. Our dishes were fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented.

We hope to return when we visit Minneapolis again, and we will definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends and family in the area!!

What a great place! Kind of hidden at the very end of eat Street, this little gem has great flavor. The egg rolls and pot stickers were amazing. The pho is generous and delicious. Our server was prompt and efficient. Everyone was so nice. One server wanted to practice her English with us so we had a wonderful conversation. The place really felt comfortable and homey. We will definitely be back.

Its not bad, but not great either. The egg rolls and spring rolls were okay. The pho was also not bad. The place itself is a bit on the musty side. But all that aside its still a decent pho place offering authentic dishes.

Had dinner at Pho Tau Bay on Oct 30th, 2023, and it was a delightful experience. My partner, who is Vietnamese, was in search of authentic food, and this place didn’t disappoint. I had noodles with shrimp and crab meat, along with a unique Vietnamese coffee that I got to mix myself—all of which were fresh and full of flavor.

The staff was attentive, making sure we were well-taken care of throughout the meal. While the restaurant is spacious, it could benefit from some renovations to enhance the ambiance.

In terms of price, it was quite reasonable, especially considering the quality and authenticity of the food. If you’re in the mood for genuine Vietnamese cuisine, I highly recommend Pho Tau Bay. It stands out in its authenticity and flavors compared to other similar establishments.

Pho Tau Bay’s pho is the best I have tried in this city, and I have tried about eight different places. The pho broth is flavorful and savory with a hint of sweetness. Meat portions are not stingy and a good amount! I also enjoy their cream cheese wontons and weekend-special meals.

There is a plenty of parking space. This place is rarely busy; I have never had to wait to be seated. The servers are polite and refill water frequently.

The only downside is the location, but if you can look past that, then please try this place out for yourself!

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for its delicious cuisine and immediate service!

Let’s start off this would have been a 4 star rating however they overcharged me and I couldn’t refute it because I didn’t get a bill. They just rang us up with us never seeing the bill. The yelling over the intercom was annoying. Otherwise the food was good. Probably won’t be back unless under a major bind. PS. They have CityPage award signs up… CityPage is so 1999.

The food is great. I love their shrimp and sweet potato appetizer. We have tried their Pho and Vermicelli before, loved it. Tried their broken rice platter with grilled chicken and shrimp, loved it even more! The only issue I have is, their service. While we were seated promptly, while ordering I felt rushed. The waitress, she seemed annoyed that she has to come second around to take my order (which is within 3mins of the first time. We didn’t even call her. She decided 3mins is enough to decide). Other than that, ambience is good. I saw some reviews with security issues, luckily didn’t face anything like that. If you decide to go there, better know what you would like to order beforehand!

PTB is finally opened, and their food is as consistently incredible as I remembered it pre-covid lockdown. The serving size is smaller, prices have jumped a little (as expected), but the quality of taste and experience are still the same. There are signages and good social distancing with seating arrangements.

We had pho, spring rolls, and the G1 banh mi with a small bowl of pho broth. The food were quickly prepared and served; and everything was superbly satisfying.

Glad to know they are opened again for dine-in and take out.
