’ll start by saying that my expectations were pretty low heading in, based on the reviews. This is very much your standard local dive bar—and I mean that in the most straightforward way possible. You’re not coming here for a standout meal or craft cocktails. You’re coming here because it’s open late, has cold drinks, and it’s probably close by.

In my case, it was conveniently located near our Airbnb, and with limited late-night dining options in the area, I ended up eating here two nights in a row—strictly out of convenience.

Both nights I had the Clam Strip Roll. It’s fine. Not great, not terrible. Just… fine. On the first night, I made the mistake of ordering the French fries, which came with an extra charge. They were underwhelming—small portion, cold, and not seasoned. Definitely not worth the upcharge or the calories. The second night I opted for the default chips instead. Still not great, but at least they didn’t cost extra.

My friend had the BLT on night one—nothing offensive about it, but nothing to write home about either. The toast was uneven, and the onion rings (also an upcharge) were a letdown: soggy and bland. On the second night, they went with the Works Burger and a side salad. Again, both were just average. The burger checked the usual boxes, and the salad was basic but fresh enough. In short, the food does the job, but it’s not going to be a highlight of your trip.

Drinks were a brighter spot—cold and reasonably priced, which is really all you can ask for in a place like this.

The atmosphere? Exactly what you’d expect from a small-town dive bar. There are a few pool tables, TVs mounted on the walls playing sports, and music that leaned into classic rock and barroom standards. It’s unpretentious and low-key—probably the kind of place where regulars sit at the same bar stools every night.

Service was solid. Orders were taken quickly, drinks arrived fast, and needs were met with minimal fuss. Nothing over the top in terms of attentiveness, but nothing lacking either. It’s the kind of service that keeps the gears moving without drawing attention to itself.

Overall, Lyme Tavern is a functional, no-frills stop. Not somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit, but in a pinch—especially if it’s late and you’re nearby—it’ll do.

A roomy sports bar restaurant. You can be in the busy area or retreat to a quieter area of the restaurant. The food is good and you don’t break the bank. Very reasonable. They also have great specials including .50 cent wing nite Thursday nite football. A television viewable from every part of the restaurant. Most important is the service is impeccable. Waitresses hustling back and forth to meet the demand. Especially Sianna, great service! One of the better sports bars in the area.

Great flavor with everything we ordered, delicious wings & steaks. Though the flow of service was slightly off, to slow. It happens. Seems like the authentic “local spot” all the same, while the owner was immediately present & available if we truly needed “the immediate”. Sometimes it’s just best to relax and enjoy…so we did.

Didn’t eat anything, and I drank a Truly, but everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. Enjoyed a few hands of Keno while we talked and enjoyed our drinks. It felt a bit like home, even though it was my first time there.

My family and I have been to the lyme tavern numerous times and will continue to keep coming back, The Ny strip steak with mash potato’s and veggies are always always prepared perfectly and delicious. The pizza is freshly made and tasty The atmosphere is very clean and usually sports playing on the tv which is super fun. The staff is really friendly and fast paced. Overall I give the Lyme Tavern a 10 out of 10 and I give them my highest recommendation

Going on Sunday was a treat! Had a free raffle with DJ entertainment. Football was on and their fans were happy to live it up. Great time.

Wow. Wow. Wow. So good. The food the people the wait staff everything was awesome. We had the meatball with swiss ,the, turkey and the sausage with peppers and onions grinders and chicken strips and and clam chowder it was all amazing. I will definitely be going back again. The money we spent was well worth it and the food items weren’t that expensive… Everywhere else recently was so expensive and food just didn’t taste right in some way this place is awesome and delicious. Next time I need more dipping sauce for my chicken strips which I must say we’re fresh. And they didn’t give me chips with my grinder last time we did so not sure what happened there. Even the live band was great . It’s the last of the season though. Located right next to the beach… Just convenient and delicious Soo happy.

I turned 60, 7 years ago. I was staying here at the inn and decided I would celebrate with the 24 oz prime rib. I am not sure if they even offer it anymore, It was delicious! The rub was nice, cooked perfectly and I soooo enjoyed my meal. This hole in the wall place treated me right and I still look back with fond memories… thank you!
