What a beautiful Experience. This restaurant was so clean and the waitress was so kind and constantly making sure we always had refreshments and she served our food freshly hot. Definitely a beautiful and perfect place for a date night . Also the food was absolutely AMAZING, we can’t wait to go back .

Had an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner here! Despite being super busy, the service was top-notch—our waitress Kathy was incredibly attentive, sweet, and funny. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic night, and the food and drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back soon!

Their food is actually pretty bad
The sushi was terrible
It lacked flavor and it kept falling apart
Same thing for the sauté beef and the rice, it lacked flavor and the rice wasn’t made well.

Sakura Hibachi in Glastonbury is a vibrant and fun spot that serves up genuinely delicious Japanese cuisine, especially for non-meat eaters. We were incredibly impressed by the quality of the food and the lively atmosphere, but unfortunately, the service consistency prevents this from being a five-star experience.

The Vegetable Hibachi was the star of the show. The chef did a fantastic job preparing the vegetables—they were cooked perfectly, retaining a pleasant crispness without being underdone or soggy, and seasoned beautifully. The portion sizes were generous, and the fried rice and noodles that came with it were flavorful. For an appetizer, the Spicy Edamame was a delightful surprise; the garlic butter and spicy Japanese chili combination was addictive and highly recommended as a starter. Our Vegetable Sushi Rolls were also fresh, expertly rolled, and a great, clean counterpoint to the richer hibachi.

The ambiance is lively, and the hibachi show is entertaining, making it a great place for a fun night out.

However, the customer service was noticeably lacking in warmth. While the staff were generally responsive to requests, their demeanor felt unenthusiastic and a little moody. We didn’t see many smiling faces, which unfortunately took a bit of the shine off the overall lively atmosphere. While the culinary talent is five-star, the overall dining experience is held back by this lack of engagement and hospitality from the service staff.

Bottom Line: Come for the fantastic food and entertaining hibachi experience, but be aware that the wait staff might not provide the five-star warmth you might expect. With an improvement in staff hospitality, this spot would easily be a perfect five stars.

This is our go-to restaurant for special events, date night and happy hour. We bring friends here all the time. The fish is always fresh and the presentation exquisite. Drinks are generous. But the best is the service, especially if you get Lek as your server. She always remembers us and our drinks and how we like them. Always a fun experience.

We absolutely had a fun time. The hibachi was spectacular and our chef was very good. The food was great for a hibachi restaurant. The service could’ve been a little bit better I had to ask for my drink several times. We asked them to change the TV channel from something other than sports and they did change the channel but just to another sports channel, I don’t quite understand why Japanese steakhouse wants to play sports on big screen TVs I had to filet mignon my wife had some sushi and our friends had chicken combos and sushi themselves. We will go back. We had a great time.

First and last time going there. Took 45 minutes just to get drinks, and then forgets the soda. The bar barely had anyone eating or drinking at it, so no idea why it took so long. Brought sushi without chopsticks or soy sauce. It took 20 minutes just to have that delivered to the table. Had to borrow another tables soy sauce. Order filet cooked medium, received it well done. Our dog is going to eat well. Then took another 20 minutes to get the credit card back to pay. NEVER will come back. Manchester is sooo much better!

Main concern, timing. Arrived at 6:00 for our 6:00 reservation. Was told to be on-time as they don’t wait for us and our reservation will be given away (completely understood) and note: there is a strict 90 min sitting policy, you can’t sit at the table for any longer. Got sat at 6:10 (not an issue for us). Waitress came shortly after and got our drink and food orders, great. Then the wait begins. 40 min to get our drinks, and some were forgotten. Got our apps before the drinks, but the soy sauce and chopsticks were forgotten for the sushi. Then it’s 7:08 – our hibachi chef arrives, and we’re hoping they don’t kick us out at the 90 min mark (7:30). The chef seemed a bit under experienced, but overall, food was good except for the filet that we paid extra for. Asked for it medium and medium rare and it was cooked verrrrry well done. Would have sent it back at any other restaurant, but didn’t want to wait even longer for it to be re-done. Waited a long time for the check, and it took 15 min for the waitress to come back to take our credit card. Then took 10 min to get that card back. She was very nice, but we’re still so confused as to why literally everything took so long. Not blaming her or the chef specifically, but things definitely got jumbled somewhere, and quite often. Usually let things like this slide if they are single offences, but the fact that this entire meal experience was so completely out of whack, I couldn’t not leave this review.

Oh, and to top it all off – the saki bottle that was used on us sprayed ALL over each and every one of us. So beware.
