Reviews
Ended up exploring Forno. Amazing place, Awesome food & Great service. Getting everything at one place is rare combination. We were glad to stop by for late lunch. Even kids love the food. They also have Hash which seems to be breakfast place which we will surely try in our next trip. Staff is very professional, humble & courtious. Our server was Keiren who was really great. They also have ample parking around the building. If you ever look g for a spot while driving Edmonton to Calgary, it’s a must go place.
I saw that they had a wood burning stove and decided to order a pizza. Ordered the bbq pizza and it was just alright. The bbq sauce was really sweet and the chicken tasted bleh (maybe lack of seasoning? Some of the chunks looked a bit grey). Have ordered bbq pizza at many establishments and this was probably one of my least favourite that I’ve tried. Crust was great, but not overly flavourful. Maybe the sauce and cheese combo need some attention? I’d go back and try the pasta next time, as the pizza was a disappointment.
It feels like a hidden gem that belongs in a big city, but thankfully it’s right here in Red Deer. Whether you’re a foodie looking for something next-level or just want a night out that feels special, this spot absolutely delivers.
Ordered SICILIAN SHRIMP & BLACKENED MAHI MAHI, FORNO SEARED SIRLOIN and the warped Italian pizza, non-alcoholic cocktail and green tea. Paid $144. Our order was prepared quickly, server brought our food to the wrong table at first.
MAHI mahi dish was so disappointing…
Shrimps were overcooked, one still had a vein in it. The fish was tough and dry – I think it was overcooked or kept frozen for too long. The amount of sauce on the plate was miniscule, it seemed that it is there just for decor. Sauce tasted like one of those Asian sauces you get with fried rice.
Chef’s daily pasta was The worst pasta I even ate in the restaurant, overcooked, in a weird orange sauce, honesty like pasta from a can. Veggies were good.
Stake was cooked well, it came with veggies ( no mushrooms though, but on the website menu there are mushrooms in it). It also came with the same Exact sauce as the fish! A few dots of the black sauce for the entire dish. I don’t understand why at Forno they don’t put a good amount of suitable sauce to the dish, instead they put minuscule same black thick sauce to everything.
The size of the teapot was tiny, twice smaller than a regular mug. Cocktail was tasty.
Pizza was the only thing that I would come back for.
Otherwise definitely overpriced for the quality they present.
The server was very diligent about following up on our food, drinks and payment. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and food. She gave excellent suggestions about what we would like for lunch and brought the food out in a timely manner.
The steak sandwich lunch was cooked perfectly and the Caesar Salad was fresh and delicious too.
The Guiness Draft beer was a fresh keg and tasted excellent!
The atmosphere here is beautiful and really open to all types of dress and people.
I will come back again for business meetings or even with friends.
