Busy, comfortable bistro turning out generous pasta portions & plating thin, pan & stuffed pies.

Food and wine were great. Waitstaff friendly and made this first-timer feel very welcome. Only downsides were older, more basic decor and smaller interior. This is a busy place, so while a bit more space would be desirable, might also take away from the cozier, family feel. Definitely returning!

Plan ahead or make a reservation as it has been busy on both of my visits (Thursday evening and Saturday evening).I absolutely love this place. Food is absolutely top notch, as is the service. You’re greeted at your table with some garlic bread and oil. Order a glass of wine while you peruse the menu. Their red sauce is made in house, and is incredible. Remember this as you look at the options on the menu. I had the sample on the last visit.which had spaghetti, a delicious meatball and probably the best lasagna I’ve had in my life. Had a taste of the alfredo sauce which was delicious as well. We will be back, and hopefully many times, as this is definitely our favorite Italian restaurant in Madison now!

First time after living in Madison for 4 years. We popped in here for for a last minute dinner. The good overall was delicious, healthy portions and reasonably priced food. I like places like this, it’s easy to over spend in a big city!

One word: Satisfying. The red sauce so perfectly compliments the pasta. We had the sampler (lasagna and eggplant), veal, chicken, and chicken with sausage ravioli. Great portions and wonderful Italian flavors! We’ll be back soon!

This legendary gem is a great place to stop for an old school dine in experience. Here you will find great food done the Sicilian way. Pietro & Josephine, the Italian food masters of the Madison area, should be awarded. MMMMMMMM

Cafe la Bellitalia, you will be SO missed. Growing up in an Italian-American family, this restaurant provides comfort food to an extent I didn’t realize could happen. The food at CLB unlocks nostalgia every time and I am devastatingly elated for the owners to be retiring. PLEASE go support this amazing restaurant before their last day on 3/10/25. You will be missed ❤️❤️❤️

2002 -Warm, wonderful, authentic Italian! 2/25 – Still most amazing, tasty dinners. But we had to wait two hours after we arrived to taste it, even with a “reservation.” So sad they’re closing.

I have tried every stuffed pizza the greater Madison area has to offer, and this is hands down the best. You wouldn’t think to order the stuffed pizza here with all the other options, but it is worth it. What separates this stuffed pizza from all the rest is there is no grease. It is flavorful, light and fluffy, and dense, but you are not swimming in your meal. You can pick up a slice and hold it without it falling apart. It doesn’t make you feel like crap like most greasy pizzas do. I ordered this twice in less than a weeks time. A new go-to and a must try.
