Everyone wants to know why we chose a name like The Rusty Onion for the place that serves the best pizza Carolina has to offer After all, rust and food don’t generally go together and, as a beloved beast in a Disney movie pointed out, “not everybody likes onions” – most onions, anyway. The response to this particular onion has been really good, and we’re pretty proud of that. So, how did we come up with the name, you ask? Well, we wanted a place that would stand out in the local restaurant line up, and in order to do that, we had to be willing to take some risks.

Really great sports bar/restaurant that I wish I would’ve checked out years ago!!! This is in my top 5 Stromboli’s in the Charlotte area, sooo good! Great flavor and good amount of toppings. Definitely going to get back to try out the pizza!
Service from Kristin was excellent! They have $4.50 draft specials on Mondays and they have 3C IPA on draft, which is one of my favorites!
They have a $5 off coupon for your first delivery/carryout order (see picture).
Also a good sized covered patio for when the weather is nice. All in all, a great restaurant that is definitely worth checking out!!!

Stopped into The Rusty Onion for lunch and ordered this delicious Greek Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken breast was huge and juicy and the salad in general was excellent. I also ordered the garlic knots and they were amazing as well. Really great lunch!

Went there for lunch. Not really busy, I had a philly cheese and it was kinda plain. My son had a chicken sandwich and it had great flavor. The grands enjoyed their meal off the kid’s minu. I would go back.

Our first time trying. We ordered takeout and considering the size of the order, it didn’t take long to prepare and an employee helped carry it to the car.
We tried a supreme 18 inch pizza, lasagna, calzone, cheese curds, garlic cheese bread, cheesecake, cannoli, and two kid’s meals.
Everything was delicious, especially the lasagna. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!

It’s not the worst lil burger/Italian joint, but the spaghetti and meatballs was the literal taste and consistency of spaghetti-o’s. And also the staff/general public was a bit racist. Nasty looks, food was wrong, tried to talk to the server and she would keep walking while I’m clearly in earshot, avoiding the table and the tables around us looking at me, whispering and scowling the entire time we were there. Our server randomly stopped coming to our table after our food came out but was still attending everyone around us to the point where I never got a refill until a busser came to the table to bus and I jut asked for a to go diet coke. The manager started cashing us out because I was politely asking other servers in earshot if they could bring us the tab. A true disappointment.

I work across the street and this is THE SPOT for me and my co-workers after work. It’s a very comfortable atmosphere – nothing fancy – but just perfectly right for a relaxing time. The food is really good….specifically the fried mozzarella. I always get the chicken pasta as my entree and it’s consistently great. The staff and bartenders are extremely friendly. Highly recommend this place for a night out with friends and family. Very kid friendly environment.

It would be great if you put your daily specials on the order website. I purchased a 10 inch 2 topping pizza paid 17.99 and when I picked up the pizza there was a special on a 14 inch 2 topping for 15.99. I had already paid for the pizza so I picked up and could have paid less and gotten a 14 inch.

Just started going here through a recommendation from a friend. I’ve tried the wings, the pitas, and the brotherly love philly. All of which were great! The chef John helped with recommendations. Wednesday night they have musical bingo! So nice family fun! Saturday night they have live music! Also they have a big patio which is great for big groups. Daily drink specials! Been here a few times. I use to visit this place after the early stages of Covid… food was always on point. I came here last Monday for a lunch date with my boyfriend and we got the Presto Pizza … . It was so good. The service was good and atmosphere was just as good as the pizza. Keep up the good work. It’s definitely a pizzeria must have when in the Pineville area of Charlotte.
