The portion sizes were satisfying. Although the taste wasn’t as delicious as authentic Thai food, we didn’t have high expectations for food in tourist areas, so I would describe it as acceptable. The dining environment was elegant, the restrooms were clean, and the staff were very polite. Their meticulous care made us feel respected.
However, the charges were somewhat unreasonable. For example, they did not clearly inform us of the price for a large portion of rice when it was served. Additionally, after I explicitly asked for tap water, the staff brought bottled water without informing us of the cost. When we settled the bill, we found out that the rice was charged per person and the bottled water cost $2 each (with additional tax and separate tip). Out of courtesy, we didn’t fuss over these issues. Apart from that, it was a satisfying dinner.

During our visit to the Icelandic Festival in Gimli last week, we stumbled upon this restaurant and were immediately drawn to its charming atmosphere. After reviewing the mixed online feedback, we decided to give it a try yesterday, and fortunately, our dinner experience was excellent. Too bad we forgot to capture that foodie moment! The service was attentive, and the patio seating area was lovely, accommodating our group of seven comfortably (kudos to the lady and male server). Our kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and we were also impressed with the cleanliness of the washrooms. In addition, I appreciate the restaurant’s only offering bottled water as the male server did a great job explaining that they don’t serve tap water due to past boil water advisories caused by power failures or pump failures at the water treatment facility.

⚠️ Make sure to TIP if you go here — or else!!!!! ⚠️
I ordered two boba smoothies for take-out and didn’t tip since it was just a simple to-go order. I know the person in charge made my order right after I ordered, because I saw her prepare it. Yet I still ended up waiting almost 30 minutes, trying to make eye contact the whole time, and was completely ignored. When I finally went inside to follow up, the drinks were already sitting there melting — clearly ready for a while. Meanwhile, the staff kept prioritizing other customers who had just arrived.
It was obvious the guy was doing this on purpose, and that left an even worse impression. So disappointed.

Ok, the food was wonderful, we got the mixed appetizers, which were spring rolls, banana rolls, and cream cheese crab. The 2 mains were the green chicken curry with jasmine rice, and one of their speciality noodle dishes. We got this to go, the only part of it was the dishes were not filled as much about 1″ from the lid, so less leftovers, and the price was $80 with a tip, for one meal. The place had indoor and outdoor seating for summer, the owners/ cashiers/ cook were personable and helpful. We did get Taro and Strawberry bubble tea. Best one, I can find outside of Winnipeg.

Tried going for dinner and left.
We sat down and someone came over and literally threw the menus down (tossed them and they skided across the table) and walked away.
They won’t give you a glass of water, you have to buy bottles at 2.50 per, we drink a lot of water, especially with spicy food which we greatly enjoy. I’m fairly certain not giving free tap water is actually illegal in MB, while serving alcohol.
I’m fine spending $100 + on a meal, and we had planned on ordering numerous dishes but I refuse to spend $40 plus on water so we left and headed for the pizza place where we were quickly seated, greeted and brought…. Water!
Can’t comment on the dishes but the service is definitely lacking.
The male owner/waiter? Also physically shoved/pushed my 5 year old out of his way.

Waited 40 minutes without service, not a single person came up to our table and I had to get menus ourselves after 30 minutes. Later overheard that they were short staffed but was never informed of this before we were sat. Other tables got their food and drinks before us and the waiter was rude. When asked where the bathroom was, he kept walking and pointed at a nearby door without looking at us. Ended up walking out. Looked like good food, it’s a shame we weren’t talked to

My wife and kids love stopping in here to check out the store/boutique. Huge selection of ethnic style clothing and they offer a lot of smaller souvenir type items. Staff have always been very helpful & friendly. Reasonable prices in a “tourist town” is a rare thing too. Go check them out.
We have ordered food to go on one occasion and it was decent. Nice to have different choices for food in Gimli.

After having a lovely afteenoon in Gimli, we ended up stopping here. Super disappointing, this was the worst Thai food that I have ever had. I ordered 2 classic dishes, thinking that both would be fantastic, but neither was even close to good. And to add to my disappointment here, the bathroom had poop sprayed on the walls. Our server was fantastic.
Will not return, will not recommend.
Also, they will not serve a glass of water. Only bottled drinks were available.

I was really looking forward to trying the Thai restaurant in Gimli, but the service was unbelievably bad. We walked in, were given menus, and then sat for 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, even as other tables who arrived later had their orders taken. When I politely asked the male server if we could order, he just pointed to someone else and completely ignored us. Another 10 minutes passed before my partner went to the counter, where that same server was, without exaggeration, the rudest person I have ever come across in my life, snapping “we are busy” in an incredibly disrespectful tone, despite the fact they clearly weren’t. I have worked in the service industry for many years, I understand that restaurants can get hectic, but there is never an excuse for such outright rudeness and dismissiveness toward customers.
Such a shame, especially in a small town.
