Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

I feel the place could be analogous to In-N-Out in California. This is the first time I have had the original runza sandwich. The taste of the mix of sourdough, sour kraut and shredded beef is amazing. The staff was very friendly as well

Good location. Especially if you happen to be downtown. Restaurant is well maintained and also has great environment/decor. Service is okay and not slow. Food is alright. Menu feels a bit limited. Wish there were more options or maybe bigger portions. Parking is a bit tight.

new to town. dropped in to taste what they were advertising. I asked how big their sub sandwiches were. cashier described a 4″ sandwich so I decided to order a swiss and mushroom burger meal. I was given a number and told they would call me. filled my cup up, found a seat and they called my number. (that was quick) what I received was pretty sad. burger was the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger. Although it was delicious, it was very puny. fries were good. but $4 for that sandwich was a rip off. maybe next time ill order the sub.

So, I’ve been curious about this Nebraska fast food chain, Runza. Given today is probably my last day in Nebraska I figured I’d try it. For fast food, it’s pretty good. Food seems to be made fresh I had to try the classic runza sandwich which is kinda like a sloppy Joe w cabbage. It won’t be for everyone but I liked it. They also have burgers chicken, salads, etc. so something for everyone.

Warming, the place does have a slight smell of cabbage but not too bad.
