Social Profile:

We are a seasonal business with a fry truck mentality. Open Early March – Late October. The Original Mr. Albert Gendron, started this business from humble beginings in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1932, and, with the help of his family kept the Chip Truck Rollin’ through to Sarnia, Ontario, and eventually found the perfect spot under The Bluewater Bridge in Point Edward, Ontario in the 1950’s. The Gendron’s sold the business to The Laviolette Family in 1990 where they remained stationed under the bridge until 2006. After contract disputes over location, the mobile food truck was retired, and we landed in our brick & mortar building just a quick walk away from Point Edward’s beautiful water front and our old location!

You will never regret a visit to Albert’s. The classic poutine is the best in the city, coupled with the popcorn chicken. It’s a more wholesome experience when you eat it by the blue water bridge but nonetheless, this treat never disappoints.

Fries are amazing but the clientele sadly is not welcoming (aka Americans). Sherri with the attitude was rude … and the other visitors gave looks. Maybe check out the trucks by the water if you’re a tourist! Visited on Sept 6.

Tucked in under the blue water bridge this little gem is a hit with the locals. Busy even on a mid weekday in March. Lots of different flavours of fries to select from, plus onion rings, fried pickles, mushroom caps etc. Although the smell of fresh fries and vinegar was enticing, We opted for poutine and it was pretty good. Ice cream was not open ( closed during winter I suppose). Great spot.

My favorite time of the year is when Alberts opens! It’s such a nice gem. Usually always busy, but it is worth it. The food is delicious! And the view is awesome. Eat inside, or outside and there is ice cream next door!

I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager. Brought my mom and my hubby in for dinner one night as a treat and we all left with happy and FULL stomachs. Fries are always fire but the burgers? Holy smokes they’re delicious. Make sure to give them a visit when you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed

Incredible staff, it has a cute diner-like atmosphere. The dill fries/poutine were amazing. My hot dog was a bit undercooked but otherwise definitely a must see. The ice cream shop attached to it is also great.

Having remembered Original Albert’s back in the chip truck days, they always provide a unique and distinct taste that you just end up craving sometimes. There’s ample room in the park across from the building and tables around the building too – but be aware that rainier days may have most of the tables inside being used and occupied. Personally, there’s nothing quite like eating some Original Alberts fries outside on a warm day with the breeze, but no matter how you choose to enjoy them, I’m quite sure you will enjoy them. My one feeling is that the hot dogs are merely okay. Truly, this place is meant for a treat – so appreciate it as such. Wish I could be here more often!

My kids and I were taking a trip to Sarnia from Wheatley so I looked up best fry stands in town. This place meets all requirements! Food was delicious, fresh, large servings and affordable. We tried the Mexi fries, loaded fries, popcorn chicken and fries, stuffed spuds, and the spicy chicken burg. We will definitely return! Fantastic!
