We came here during our trip to NYC from London. It did not disappoint. It over delivered. Honestly the best shrimp and catfish I’ve ever had. The flavours have me wanting to book a flight back! Then to top it all, the kindness and hospitality from the owner will stick with me for a long time. I cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Please pay them a visit if you’re in NYC!

We came on a Friday, but they only sell seafood that day, so I couldn’t get any chicken. But the crispy fish, fries, and shrimp! Banana pudding, and the Red Velvet Cake are out of this world! I will be making a second trip, just not a Friday so I can get everything!
I will say that the lightly breaded shrimp and fish does not have much in the way of seasoning, they didn’t add any cocktail sauce, just some very hot Hot Sauce!

I’m overly impressed. Make my fish has the best fried shrimps, fish, Mac & cheese and yams in Harlem period!
First time I was there, I had fried shrimps and the coating was crispy, hot, fresh and well seasoned. While I was there I was offered a sample of catfish. I never had catfish before and let’s just say, they created an addiction. lol. It was well seasoned and coated to perfection. The Mac is also my absolute favorite side dish. No one in Harlem is topping their mac and cheese right now!! Their yams are great as well. It’s some magic in these side dishes.
The workers are friendly especially the gentlemen who offered me the samples. I’ve been here about five times now in the last month and their food and customer service is always consistent. I’ve also recommended friends who’ve went and said they are delicious as well.

I had the catfish & chips at Make My Fish and it was great. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the chips were good too. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and even the customers seemed happy and easy to talk to. It’s got a great community feel.
Two things to note: only cash! And no chicken on Fridays, so plan accordingly if that’s what you’re after. But honestly, with how good the fish is, you won’t miss it!

Wait times are usually long but that’s because they have a lot of people coming in I’ve had this place twice and the fish and chips always come out Divine. Seasonings on the fish itself are perfect and I love the amount of condiments they give you. The hot sauce is great I can’t tell if they use Texas Pete but it’s my fav with the tartar sauce

Customer service was good. However the food in my opinion isn’t great. The catfish is really good. The whiting have too much black pepper. The shrimp is okay slightly under seasoned. The Mac and cheese and collard greens are ABSOLUTELY TRASH ️ ️ ️ ️ ️. OMG Mac and cheese is nothing but black pepper and no cheese flavor. Those collard greens?! How dare you?

Easily the best cat fish I’ve ever eaten in New York. Savory to say the least. Seasoned to perfection. I’m not a catfish enthusiast at all but being able to compare this with the whiting were an excellent combination. The grits were made not too salty, as well as the candied yams that were in abundance. I had dinner for the night and was able to make two sandwiches for lunch and an early dinner the next day with the amount of portions I had! First time I visited and I will absolutely be back soon.

I really wanted to like this restaurant bc I heard so much about it, but I just had too many negative experiences. The service is very good & the shrimp is tasty – I’ll give them that. But that’s where the positives end. The fish isn’t that good. I don’t know what they cook it in but it doesn’t taste good. I know one day they cooked the fish in chicken oil (ugh). Its obvious they dont change the fry oil. The tartar sauce is awful.
