The food and experience is absolutely incredible. We’re from another city and we drove down just for the amazing food.

La Garita let me down tremendously this day. I was so disappointed because I drove all the way across town, only to be let down. I’ve been dining here off and on since 2009, and this was the worst food I’ve ever had from them. Everything is usually finger licking good, but everything was bland and flavorless this time. The meat tasted as if it wasn’t even seasoned. I hate leaving bad reviews, but the best thing I ate was the salad. The service is always great, and the atmosphere was lively. They had great music playing while I was waiting.

First time trying this place! It was absolutely delicious! I got the Chicharrones de Pollo, Arroz con Gandules, y Tostones (Fried Chicken, Rice & Lentils, and Fried Plaintains). I love that they had music playing in the background. If you want authentic Puerto Rican food, you have to try this place.

This is a great place to get some good food. We got the fried pork and they were perfectly fried. The beans were fantastic! The plantains were traditionally prepared and the rice was very standard fair. We will be eating here again as the food was great!

We waited for about three minutes to be seated. We ordered food and it took a while to come out. I got the fried plantains, fried potatoes, fried pork squares, and beef empanada. The only thing that was good were the beef empanadas. Everything else didn’t have much flavor.

I got kicked out of a restaurant today for being a food critic. Not even by the owner — he sent an employee to do it like I wouldn’t notice. What really pissed me off is they didn’t just kick me out… they threw my husband out too, even though he was just sitting there minding his business.

And let me be real: this place has the nerve to tack on a 4% card fee for using credit or debit, plus a 15% charge if you have a party of six or more. But apparently I’m the problem? Actually, correcting myself. They charge less if you pay cash. But that means that you pay more with the card. Tomato tomatoh.

Yeah… okay.

Which means they don’t havr confidence in their food, not can take constructive criticism.

By the way, thanks for kicking out two Army veterans from your establishment unnecessarily. All because your friend got caught in his feeling cause I did not like his fauxmplines.

If you are military, I would not support this establishment.

Music just like home and food on point just like being in the island. Server very friendly and attentive. Price worth the food but ain’t that expensive either. My Hispanics/Latinos friends this business location is right out Vanessa gate 8 min more or less.

I’m often nostalgic for food from the island. I may know how to cook some dishes but never as good as mom. My hope when I find a Puerto Rican restaurant is that good food memory. This place delivered. The fried fish (red snapper) was delicious. So few places fry it whole! The mofongo was yum. It went well with the mayo ketchup. The arroz con gandules was the only thing mom does way better, but they still did a tasty version. The alcapurria was so good. And the burrito was for my husband, who was surprised by the sauce though I wasn’t. They use a criollo-style sauce which he didn’t expect. My tastebuds, however, thought it tasted like home.

I went here with a few friends for the first time. The waitress was pleasant. I ordered the arroz con habichuelas, tostones and empanada. Everything I had was authentic and tasty.

Let’s start with the food. It definitely reminded me of PR and was very flavorful. The service was great and the atmosphere was cozy, it even had domino tables! My recommendation would be to play different variety of latin music, my experience was all Juan Luis Guerra so the music made it less interesting. Also, add more decorations that represent Puerto Rico I saw great opportunities to make this place shine. Highly recommend you stop by and try them out!
