A quaint, Baltimore fine-dining establishment. The hostess and staff are all in one. The entire staff is eager to serve you. The food! I can’t put in words. My meal left me in tears of enjoyment. The atmosphere is intimate and quaint, but styled for family outings. We had the Shrimp Scampi, Pappardelle Alfredo (with shrimp and crab), and the Chicken Francese.
The prices are shockingly low. I would have paid $50 for my meal, EASILY! As you can tell by the tip I was blessed to give, in comparison to the bill. I asked and was given the opportunity to meet the kitchen staff! I was honored and will be going back really soon!

I am giving this restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for two reasons: 1) the hostess was rather unpleasant when she discovered that our friend had asked. for a table for 2 and not for 4. This issue was quickly fixed. 2) the desserts were a little disappointing..However, the rest of our meal was delicious and we very much enjoyed the setting. We started by a large house salad and then three pasta dishes and a fish. Everything was beautifully seasoned. We had a very tasty meal.

Thank you to the entire Sammy’s Baltimore Team for a very special rehearsal dinner celebration! The food was absolutely delicious, your staff is friendly and accommodating and your space is beautiful. Meatballs were some of the best ever, salmon, chicken parm, salad and desserts were faboulous! Our group of 60ish had an amazing time. Thank you for making it so memorable!

Food was great, had the duck ravioli. Was ever so savory, whish there was more on the plate. Seems a bit short staffed. Ordered a drink that was forgotten about and never served, luckily not put on bill. The waitress was friendly though very busy and seemed over burdened so, can’t blame them. Atmosphere was nice, a tad too dated for my tastes and very little decor. Could use some sprucing up. Add more vintage items, color touch up, etc
Nice place for dinner.

I attended an event with a fixed menu. It was great overall, people were happy with the food and service. The appetizers were great, meatballs, mozzarella, bruscetta all top notch. I liked the arugula salad and the pasta plates – the 3 cheese gnocchi pesto was better than the tortellini gorgonzola. For secondi we had a salmon and chicken parmesan. The chicken was in fact the only disappointment – the red sauce for the meatballs and the mozzarella was excellent, not sure why they went with whatever that bland sauce was for the chicken. As I would have personally gone for the salmon myself anyway, it wasn’t really a problem for me, but should be mentioned as I saw they can do better. Decent desserts too. I would recommend it for events, it was better than I expected.

I’ve been here a few times and have loved each visit! Valerie is the best- she’s personable, kind, and attentive. The food is always hot, fresh, and consistently delicious; my go-to dishes are the Julia Salad and the Rigatoni alla Vodka. The bread service with garlic-parmesan dipping oil is also amazing. The staff does a wonderful job making sure you have everything you need, from refilling drinks to checking in throughout your meal. On my last visit, I was surprised it wasn’t busier- definitely check it out, and ask for Valerie!

Delicious pasta and calamari. Husband loved the cocktails – boulavardier sour and Manhattan. Cozy and warm. Service was good but slowed due to show at the symphony hall. Would definitely return.

Had a disappointing experience at Sammy’s. Our table of four waited over 45 minutes for our meals. Our server was sympathetic and apologized twice, even mentioning that two other tables were also experiencing long delays. Unfortunately, no one else on staff acknowledged the situation.
The food itself was fine. We had two meals that were simply rigatoni in butter sauce (for the kids) and they were far too buttery. Our other two meals were prepared well. And, very unusual for a Baltimore Italian restaurant, there was no bread served with the meal. We had a bowl of dipping oil when we arrived at the table, but perhaps the restaurant no longer serves bread.
Our table was in the basement, which was far less enjoyable than the main dining room. The basement felt rough, less elegant, and much noisier.
We would have considered ordering dessert, but the long wait left us pressed for time to make our next event.

A solid choice for tasty Italian food. Make a reservation because they are VERY busy. This is run by an Italian Nona, and believe me, you know she is in charge. As soon as we walked in, she recognized my voice and said she remembered me calling earlier for a reservation. They had a table waiting for us with ice waters and fresh bread and garlic herb dipping oil. This stuff is outstanding!!! And kudos to Sammy’s. Very few places give you bread and dipping oil anymore. So if i could give them 6 stars, I would!
We started off with the beef Carpachio, and I highly recommend it. I was very pleased with the flavors and presentation. The pasta came next, and we were not disappointed. Duck ravioli and some kind of seafood pasta. High marks on both. It was a little bit chaotic with how busy it was, but our water glasses never ran dry, and our food was served in a reasonable time. Meanwhile, we indulged in the homemade bread and dipping oil. Reasonable prices. Warm and personable service, tasty food, and a great environment.
Put this on your short list of places to try.

Overall an enjoyable experience!
The food was good as was expected.
The bread served is to die for.
Cocktails were excellent, but also a bit basic and on the pricier side. The menu does not list prices so prepare for that. Our drinks ranged from $14-17.
Service was a bit hectic as well. We had multiple servers, but they didn’t seem to be communicating with each other.
