Had a great Valentine’s Day brunch at Sovana Bistro! I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich (no pickles or slaw) and it was so good — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the sweet heat. The fries were fresh and hit the spot.

Sarah got the butternut squash and pear pizza and it was honestly incredible. The flavors worked so well together — a little sweet, a little savory, and super fresh. You can tell they care about quality ingredients.

We also tried the seasonal black cherry mimosas, which were delicious and festive without being overly sweet.

Everything was really good, the vibe was cozy and welcoming, and we had such a nice time. Definitely a go-to spot for brunch or a date. We’ll be back!

Our server who I believe is Fabiola Z was awesome. She was really on top of things and suuuper nice. I felt like I was being treated like royalty. The food was great too I was stuffed. Very fancy place. The brown butter tort wasn’t very good though

Always a great experience!! Popped in for lunch and wasn’t disappointed.
Our visit started with a warm, friendly welcome at the door. Seated in my favourite high top table not that they know which I like.
Service was very attentive and even made changes to my lunch so I could have a warm soup. Food was delicious. Best onion soup I’ve had in a while. Look forward to my next visit.

We’ll be back for sure. Francesca was our server – she was amazing and gave great recommendations!
They had lots of gluten free & celiac safe options. I got the corn and tomato bisque, brussel sprouts, and the apple pizza. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

We chose Sovana Bistro to celebrate a family member’s 70th birthday. Overall, the experience was great, with mostly hits and a couple of misses when it came to the food.
Overall Ratings:

Restaurant: (4/5)
Service: (4/5)
Food: (4/5)
Parking: Free parking lot

Atmosphere:

The restaurant is visually impressive—clean, modern, and inviting. One major plus is that they can accommodate large groups, which many places struggle with.

Service:

Our server was excellent—friendly, prompt, and accommodating. However, one issue stood out: while gratuity for large groups was expected, we were not informed about the additional 5% credit card fee, which most restaurants typically absorb.

Food (Hit or Miss) — We ordered a variety of items, with mixed results:
-Crispy Brussels Sprouts – Excellent
-Kids’ Pizza – Overpriced and below average
-Potato Soup – Watery and lacking depth of flavor
-Grilled Sea Bass – Delicious but small portion for the price
-NY Steak Special – Great flavor, well-balanced sides

Final Thoughts:

Overall, we had a great experience and would return for special occasions. I appreciate that the menu changes seasonally, keeping things fresh. Looking forward to trying new dishes on our next visit!

Enjoy my meal here every time. I no longer live in the area but make a point of coming here anytime I’m back in town. The food is amazing and the service is always great too. The pizzas are fabulous and were available both gluten free and dairy free for a member of our group who has allergies. They were very conscientious of cross contamination in their kitchen too for allergies. Over the years we’ve enjoyed apps, cheese boards, salads, pizzas, entrees, and desserts here – you just can’t go wrong with anything you order!
Make sure to grab a reservation on the weekends!

4 of us went to Sovana’s Bistro to celebrate my 60th birthday,we had a 12:30 reservation we were greeted at the door by Brandon who had the most awesome personality and sang happy birthday as I was walking in . We were seated and our waiter was Nick and he was very attentive and knew any questions we asked, the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. We all had different dishes which are labeled in the photos. These are my views on the food the crispy calamari could have had more calamari and less salad for the price the aioli and calamari were delicious, polenta was also very good but the “ potato latkes” were not a latkes it was a one inch thick shredded potato round with no seasoning lightly cooked to give it a fried appearance I don’t recommend them if you like latkes the apple compote on top was flavorful. I had the pappardelle with wild boar Ragu and I ordered a side of Fran’s meatballs which I thought would be 2 meatballs ( at$15) this dish was very good but it was hard to eat in the cereal size bowl it was served in, it does have a little heat in it so be aware. I also had the cinnamon roll bread pudding with ice cream , three other desserts were supposed to come with gelato but they didn’t have any gelato at all in-house which I thought they should have deducted that from their $12 desserts because gelato is much creamier than regular ice cream. But all in all this is a nice place to eat the staff is one of the best groups of people that I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant in my life they truly make it a unique experience

Great experience after a long day at Longwood Gardens

Tasty and creative menu that did not disappoint. Made reservations and was accommodated on time. Food was presented artfully. Mushroom toast tasty but not worth the inflated price. Branzino special was delightful. Squid ink pasta a big hit and the duck confit was superb but portion on the small side.
Our server was new and the service was slower than we would have preferred but it did not detract from our festive spirits or terrific food. The place was JUMPING !!
We would return.

My husband and I stopped by today for an early lunch and were greeted like celebrities. The two salads he ordered were beautiful and my butternut squash gnocchi were spectacular, as well as the lovely lavender Earl Grey loose tea in a BIG mug like I like it! Our waitress, whose name I do not remember was perfect: attentive, anticipating and approachable. We really appreciate how special the staff made us feel. It makes a difference.
