Reviews
To be honest, the food in Bethesda location tastes better.
The dimsum is good. As for shumai, it is authentic and have big piece of shrimp in it. As for stir fry, a lot of items I ordered were too salty. One of the reviewer left long comment on their recipe change and I agree with it.
Service staff were attentive, but one of the female staff keeps mistaking my order, either missing some items or mistaken for another. She is friendly but I think she needs to write things down when customer orders.
I am giving five star but hoping it will improve in recipes(less salty etc)
The host and waiter were super friendly, super nice everyone was really nice.
The restaurant was tidy and clean. I had stained or smujed cup of water and plate, didn’t like that and didn’t make me happy
Talking about the food: I ordered,
● Dry fried red pepper chicken: was really delicious, the best I tasted so far.
● Had made beef noodle soup: was dilecious.
● Sichuan beef noodle soup: dilecious but not up to the hype it received.
● Shanghai veggie spring roll: needs a lot of work, it tasted like nothing, disappointing.
● Steamed crystal shrimp dumplings: not the best, had better
● Mongolian beef with onion scallion: not bad. But should be called onion with Mongolian beef.
● Scallion bubble pancake: was a surprise
Food quality was great, survise was really good and fast.
Would I come back? Only if I really have too.
Our favorite dishes are:
Vegan cold Mung Bean Noodles 刮刮凉粉
Signature spicy lamb hoof特色煳辣羊蹄
Marinated Farm chicken 卤水土鸡
Spicy Dan Dan Noodle with minced pork 四川肉末担担面

(Aug 2025) Peter Chang Kitchen is a truly authentic Chinese restaurant. Their noodle dishes are hands down some of the best you can find in Maryland. Since they opened in mid-August, I’ve already been there seven times, which says a lot. Personally, I find the chili oil noodles and the tomato egg green bean noodles far superior to the spicy beef noodle. The shredded pork with garlic sauce might just be the best in all of Maryland. Every other dish I’ve tried has been satisfying as well.
The only downside is that the food doesn’t always come out at the same time — sometimes dishes arrive 10 minutes apart. The service feels not fully optimized yet, but given how new the restaurant is, I expect this will improve over time (Aug 2025)
While the interior is a work in progress, the food coming from the kitchen is the same authentic Chinese food you would expect from a restaurant with his name on it.
His signature Scallion Pancake with Curry dipping sauce is a must. The pork fried dumplings were outstanding, and the Peking Duck is the best around.
I was lucky enough today to get to see Chef Chang working in his newest kitchen, making sure everything was up to his standards. I also got to try his spicy Dan Dan noodles with ground pork, chili sauce and green onions…wow, sensory excitement.
You should find your way to his newest location, or for sure visit one of his others.
I find this location to not be too salty and to be quite tasty. Yes, it does seem like Peter Chang is just using the prior restaurants dish ware, but I’m guessing that all of the restaurant set up came with the lease, and they’re likely testing whether or not the location can be profitable before investing very much money in it. It didn’t really bother me too much, only that the bowl shape is not the best for soup dishes.
We ordered Napa cabbage with tofu skin, dry fried pork trotters, and the da pan chicken. I’d never seen Uyghur food on a Peter Chang menu! I liked their take on it. I felt the pricing was fair, and I love the smaller tapas portion sizes.
I also much prefer the drive to this location than driving all the way to Fairfax for Mama Chang. I’m sure we will be back soon!
It was a battle with the chopsticks since I have hands like oven mitts but I did it! Next time I will ask for the fork. The food is delicious . Chopsticks slow me down!
The servers sometime disappear. So if you’re on a time crunch at lunch just be mindful that it may take them a little bit of time to come back to you.
Restaurant feedback. Please consider doing something like wings or chicken/vegetable egg rolls (not frozen trash) or chicken wonton soup in chicken broth. Many would pay for quality. There are many of us vegetarian and non-pork eaters around your restaurant.
