We are Surf City locals, so we know every restaurant and bar. Seawitch was a very pleasant find on a rainy Sunday. Our bar tender Emily greeted us and provided both great cocktails, but outstanding blues music, from the Black Keys to Tedisch Trucks band, Emily had game! Very lovely individual! Chief Mark served up outstanding hot sandwiches and soup! Mushroom Thyme is absolutely killer, an Italian Panini and Chicken salad sandwich that was simply outstanding. Food is excellent as is the service! Make Seawitch your Sunday destination, you won’t be disappointed! 5 star all the way!

If you are a tourist, I do not recommend this place at all. The owner told my friends and me that only North Carolina IDs are accepted, and that only U.S. citizens or North Carolina residents are welcome.

We went there simply to have a good time, but when I handed over my international driver’s license, the waitress immediately took it to the owner. She came back and told me that only NC identifications were valid. I politely explained that my ID is valid in the United States and that I was also willing to show my passport. His response was simply: “Only if you are an American citizen is it valid, and that is the law in the state of North Carolina.”

This is completely absurd, because the official law states the opposite. According to North Carolina’s official guidelines regarding acceptable forms of identification to verify age for alcohol service, the following are explicitly accepted:

“A valid driver’s license from any state, a valid special identification card, a military identification card, or a passport.”

This means that a valid passport must be accepted as legal identification to verify age. Denying entry solely because someone does not have a North Carolina ID and is not a U.S. citizen is not supported by state law.

This was a discriminatory and disappointing experience that completely ruined our night. I strongly hope this establishment properly trains its staff and updates its policies to avoid treating tourists and foreigners with valid identification this way.

We just moved to the area and are so happy we found this place. The moment we walked in we felt welcomed from the bartenders, owner and other patrons!! We have also tried many items on their new food menu and WOW! Between the excellent service, amazing food and the best cocktails- we will forever be regulars! But don’t take my word for it, come in and try it for yourself!

10 star review! We just got home from Christmas bingo and had the absolute best night. The food and drinks were fantastic and the ladies behind the bar made awesome drinks and were so fun. Truly a hidden gem.

I met the very impressive owner tonight, a fantastic woman who is running a great business. Super friendly, great atmosphere well made drinks and the entertainment was top-notch. If you haven’t visited the sea witch in Surf City you must stop in, it’s a great casual lounge.

I SO badly wish I could give this place 5 stars. It was bingo night, the drinks and atmosphere were great, typically I would absolutely come again. However we met our friend here who had his service dog. Immediately upon sitting down the bartender said “sorry, we don’t allow pets”. Valid. I have nothing against establishments that aren’t pet friendly. However, he informed the bartender that she was a service dog. Rather than ask the additional question that the ADA allows (what tasks is this dog trained to perform?) she huffed at him while he ordered. She then proceeded to ignore him the entire night. Was it busy? Sure. The initial ‘forgetting his drink’ could be forgiven due to the crowd for bingo. However the bartender REPEATEDLY ignored him which is unacceptable, and in my option was very obviously intentional. I understand our area has a high concentration of fake service animals. However, treating everyone that walks in the door as such is both unfair and unacceptable. Bartenders need to be educated on ADA laws and how to handle things appropriately.

Amazing. Best cocktail lounge anywhere near Topsail. Jenean is so sweet and prompt and great at drink making. We come to Topsail every year, and this bar will be visited again and again. Cocktails = delicious. 1,000 stars

Fun social lounge with comfortable seating and great atmosphere. Enjoy a unique drink with you friends or make some new ones. Seasonal menu changes so if you haven’t been here is the past month you haven’t been to the Sea Witch.

Sea Witch in Surf City is hands down one of the best spots to grab a drink and enjoy live music! Their custom cocktails are top-notch—expertly crafted and full of flavor. They also have a great selection of ice-cold beers, making it a perfect place to relax after a day at the beach. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a fun and welcoming vibe, and the live music adds an extra layer of energy to the experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommend! Ask for Emily! She makes the best drinks

Place could be something. Great entertainment and drinks were decent. However, the bartender did not make us feel welcome, ignored my friend multiple times, and huffed her breath. Everything just felt uneasy
