My family and I have been eating at Dixie Queen for many years, and it’s been one of our favorite seafood restaurants to eat at. The prices are great, the food is always delicious, and the staff are overall friendly and welcoming.

On our last visit our waitress named Hannah really stood out. She was so sweet and really had an awesome attitude and took pride in the job she was doing the entire time. Her welcoming smile and kind personality made the experience even better. It’s not everyday you come across someone that is that genuinely friendly and attentive.

I truly hope we have her as our waitress every time we come into eat in your restaurant. She is a real gem and so never get rid of her. A truly hard worker and nice person are hard to come by. She made the experience enjoyable. We will definitely keep coming back.

Please update your hours on Google. I came to this restaurant today, 11-29-25 and was met with a sign that said closed on Saturdays. Luckily, Mayflower was open. Please update your availability on Google so that people do not waste gas money coming to your establishment.

WoW….I have been coming here for years!…My late grandmother loved the shrimp with good reason! I decided to take the Man who has become a seafood connoisseur.
We went on a Friday night early, though to my memory meant would still be busy. It was, but we had no wait & served straight away.

Our server, I think, was new because she kept coming back to our table & others to confirm orders. That’s fine that she is new, but she said there wasn’t any flatware when we saw a pan full at the end of the counter. Odd..

Our food came, hot & yummy…The devil crab was as good as I remembered. The Man got the fish & there were lots of happy noises while he chewed. The cocktail sauce is still the best!

The waitress came and took our drink order, she bought 1 glass, there where 7 of us. We waited another 15 minutes for the rest of our drinks. We were told she was waiting for our food to come out. Another 40 minutes our food came out in sections, no sides with dinner they would be out in minutes. We ask to speak with manager and when came to the table he said they were short staffed, as we noticed 3 waitress standing doing nothing but talking. The manager came over and said what is the problem, then he said if weren’t happy then we could eat somewhere else. Will never eat there again.

Food is always great here. Their seafood is always fresh no matter the time of the year you good. There is usually a 10-15 minute wait, but it’s worth waiting for.

As you are seated in your table, the table has paper placemats, silverware and 3 warm hushpuppies waiting for you. The server quickly takes your drink order, follow by more hushpuppies, and then your food order.

The food comes out relatively quick, it’s hot and fresh. You can tell it’s name with love and the owners are proud of the restaurant without a doubt. The sides are great, I got the sweet potato and salad perfect size to go allow with my medium broiled shrimp and garlic butter. So yummy!!

Please don’t expect fancy plates they are disposable. Which it’s great, easier to clean up. If you are an ice lover, the ice here it’s the perfect size to chew and eat without making a mess.

My in-laws visit Dixie Queen usually once week, I see why. Food is fresh, comes out relatively quickly and it’s a great price.

Visited Dixie Queen on 10-03-25 with my mother. We are from Greenville and my mom have especially frequented and love the food. She now resides in Ga. with me, her daughter since 9-2024. We traveled home 7 hrs on 10-3, for a family event on 10-4. Dixie Queen was our 1st stop. Purchased 47.00 worth of seafood , 2 dinners, she was tired from the trip, she is 80 with health issues,so I took her home to enjoy the food. I returned to Dixie Queen immediately, tomeet up with some high school friends to sit down and eat. Shortly after my ordering with my friends, she called me upset. LONG BROWN strands of hair was in her scallops on the plate and throughout, but mainly there, she could not eat it! The receipt was in the dashboard of the car that I drove, so I told her I would go get it and speak to manager and explain what happened. The server took the receipt to the back where the manager, who I now know is Ronald Hines. The server returned to my tale where I was with my friends and said that the manager asked if I could go back and get the plate, he refused to take my word even with the receipt. Momma only really wanted at least the scallops replaced, not the whole plate. Something! She was so excited to finally get the dinner and then could not eat it. I was told to come back when they close at 8:00 to talk about. It was already close to 7 when I was just sitting down with my friends. I myself was exhausted and hungry and thankfully my dinner or my friends dinners where hair free. Unless there are people coming in there claiming they have hair in there food which I suspect must be, whether the plate is present or not, the food should be replaced. This particular situation, explained in detailed, Ronald Hines should be ashamed for REFUSING to remake or give my mother some hair free food! Employees or maybe even him, are not wearing hair nets properly for this to happen. I was told he was in the kitchen cooking to. We won’t be back. My mother has spent a small fortune in Dixie Queen as she has lived in Greenville all her life until her health made her have to live with me in Ga. all she wanted was that. We were only in Greenville until the next morning. Family event was in Durham so we could not bring the plate back when they opened Saturday. My aunt just threw it away. Goodbye Dixie Queen! Your manager is crude and heartless. After reading these reviews, this is ongoing. That 5 line may be long, but your customer service is in the toilet. Whenever we return to home again, which is not often to Greenville, I will drive a couple of more miles to the Sandpiper in Kinston, I hear it’s top notch and more importantly, customer satisfaction is priority!

On October 1, 2025, The owner Ronald Hines publicly humiliated and intentionally went out of his way to degrade one if not more of his employees during his dinner rush. It is a shame that a business founded in the community with such a long lasting reputation would fall into to the hands of such an arrogant entitled individual. Ronald you employ children so you can pay them pennies getting your rocks off by berating and belittling them all the while charging supreme prices for your mediocre at best mostly frozen seafood. George S. Hines would be ashamed!!

I used to go here all the time growing up. The service was horrible the food was brought out at separate times we had to ask for refills for drinks sauces for food and my husband prime ribeye looked like it was under cooked. I will never never go there again when a so called manager says if you don’t have the patience you can leave and go somewhere else. That is what I call very rude customer service especially as a so called manger.
