The location is great, right in the center, and the restaurant is quite spacious. Rakesh was an amazing host and made the experience even better. They also serve excellent cocktails. Highly recommended!
The service was welcoming at first, but unfortunately, things became a bit confusing later. I had ordered a drink along with my food, but even halfway through my meal, it still hadn’t arrived. When I checked with the staff, I was told that the drink was unavailable. It would have been helpful to know this earlier so I could have chosen something else. I’m not sure whether it was an oversight or an unintentional mistake, especially since the restaurant was quite quiet at the time.
Overall, the food was excellent, but the service could have been more attentive
A wonderful warm welcome was given to me and my friend on arrival.
We were quickly looked after with menus
And water for the table.
The menu is wonderful with a great choice for each course.
We opted for the lunchtime special with a side dish from the main menu.
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We were given poppadums and 2 dips free on arrival and then enjoyed starters and main dishes. We had seafood croquettes as the extra side and lamb and chicken dishes with Dosa and lemon rice with our mains.
Every dish was absolutely amazing, along with great friendly service.
The restaurant provides gluten free and vegan dishes.
The interior is beautiful decorated, the location is close to both Central and Queen St station and an easy walk from
Buchanan bus station.
I highly recommend this brilliant restaurant for choice, quality of food, service and location.
This was our first trip to Madurai and it won’t be the last. The staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was wonderful, full of flavour and excellent quality. The beat part was my friend who cannot eat gluten, was able to enjoy the menu too, eating the same dishes as us all, a rare and lovely experience to feel included and not having to worry about gluten. The star of the show was definitely the massive paper cheese dosa we had made for us all to share. A lovely experience and I look forward to another visit to Madurai in future too!
In the photos, you can see our picks: lamb biryani, classic masala dosa, chicken gassi curry, and steamed rice. Everything was genuinely delicious, though a couple of dishes were a bit too spicy for us. If you’re not great with heat, definitely check with your server before ordering.
W e also tried the chicken pakvada and potato bonda as starters — both were wonderful. But the biggest surprise was definitely desserts. We went for the affogato and the lemon cheesecake, and they were next level. As someone who’s had lemon cheesecake in countless places, I can honestly say this was one of the best — the lemon balance was spot on.
All in all, we left really satisfied. Huge thanks to all the staff and the manager!
