Absolutely phenomenal food! The Wings were great and the pork chop was probably one of the best ones I’ve had in a long time! Pricing on the food was honestly less than what I figured it would be.. Very competitive pricing!
The waitress we had was definitely brand new at waitressing but had a couple of other people checking in on tables.
We will give it a little time to get everything up and going smoothly (opening weekend) but will definitely be back! We live less than a mile away so it will definitely be a good and frequent spot for us!

We stopped in specifically for a couple of cheeseburgers. I have to say, they were amazing! Char grilled, fresh onions, tomato and crisp lettuce. Fries were hot and seasoned perfectly! In addition, my husbandnwas pleasantly to find gizzards on the menu. He ordered some for an appetizer and said they were some of the best he has had! Looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu!

This was one of my strangest dining experiences. I got the grilled salmon, my spouse got the tuna melt. Much as the menu described, the salmon tasted fresh and was honestly one of the best pieces of salmon I’ve had in iowa. That being said, it was a very thin strip and felt like a small portion. Meanwhile my plate was heaped with veggies and rice. The veggies looked like those jolly green giant frozen veggie packs, and the rice felt like uncle Ben’s. My spouse’s tuna melt tasted like starkist canned tuna salad with celery added and cheese slapped on top. Very much a $5 meal one could whip up at home for $13.99. The fries, however, were well seasoned and perfectly cooked.
This feels like someone in the kitchen knows how to cook really well, and may be butting heads with a cheap owner or something. It feels like every corner that can be cut is being cut, but the people working seem to know what theyre doing. The service was fast and friendly and the food came out piping hot. I hope whatever these weird quality issues are can get resolved, because I really wanted to like it, but the frozen veggies and walmart style food left us feeling less than impressed.

I came here after being in a conference all day on 11-22. This small restaurant served the best French dip I’ve had in a long time. The meat was cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth. I ordered the seaside fries, absolutely wonderful. The server was very friendly & knowledgeable. I will be back when I’m back in the area again.

Loaded tater tots were amazing!!! I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. My boyfriend said it was the best patty melt he’s ever had.

Upon entering this oddly shaped seating area, we chose a seat at the bar. This was our first visit, two ladies at bar working. No greeting from either. Erika C was our server, asks what we want to drink, no hello, no eye contact or greeting. Got drinks she asks if we want a menu. We ordered fried shrimp, onion twigs and chili. Had to ask what the soup of the day was. Absolutely disappointed in the food! Felt like it was from the freezer section and thrown into the deep fryer! Worst meal we have ever had! Service was not a good experience either! Just mediocre and not recommended! Worst server we have experienced!

This is a hidden gem in Ankeny. We ordered their steak, pizza, cheese burgers, cheese curds and chips and queso. Loved all of it. We are so used to going to our old restaurants and I am happy to say this will be a place we will frequent. Beers were big and cold too! Lots of screens to watch the game. Fun nautical atmosphere. Maybe skip the chips and queso. Everything else was amazing.

This is a new, great little restaurant on 1st Street in Ankeny. Many reasonably priced menu options, food was very good…*hot sausage sandwich! Friendly service by one of the three owners (Ben Kingsley’s look alike)! We met friends there and we were welcome and comfortable to sit and visit after we ate!

I have to be honest about this place. My wife got the fish sandwich and it was greasy but ok. I got the club which was pathetic. It was cheap bread with one piece of cheap turkey, one piece of cheap ham and some lettuce. No cheese or anything. The fries are ok. The menu is gimmicky which I personally hate because to me places that do gimmicks don’t have good enough food for it to stand on its own. I hope this place closes, finds a real cook and redoes the name and menu, and comes back with quality food cooked right. To many other places in Ankeny to compete with. Don’t see it lasting more than another year.

Amazing cheeseburger and fries, the meat was tender and juicy and we were frequently checked on. There was a beautiful mural of the coast on the wall behind the wall and while it was a bit loud that really just depends on where you choose to sit, overall five stars would definitely come again.
