We grabbed lunch from The Ridge during a meeting at the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, and it was a great choice. It’s located just down the road, which made it incredibly convenient to pick up and bring back to the office without losing valuable meeting time.

I ordered the brisket quesadilla, and it was excellent. The brisket was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor—clearly slow-cooked the right way. The tortilla was crisp, the portion was generous, and it held together well even as takeout. It felt like authentic, well-prepared barbecue, not something rushed.

Everyone else at the meeting was raving about their meals too. There were strong reviews of the pulled pork and ribs, and the sides got plenty of compliments as well. It’s always a good sign when a group setting turns into a roundtable of positive food comments.

For a working lunch, The Ridge delivered on quality, flavor, and convenience. If you’re near the Tennessee Wildlife Federation or anywhere in that part of Nashville and need solid barbecue that travels well, this place is definitely worth it.

Really good BBQ with a friendly waitress. So I was wanting a little bit of everything so I ordered the 5 meat platter. I got the brisket, pork, sausage ribs and bologna. Everything was excellent except the brisket, it was very dry and didn’t taste good, but everything else made up for it. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and seasoned just right. The sausage was sliced very uniquely and had great taste. The pork was very moist and favorable. Now the bologna stole the show! It was chared just right and had great flavor. If I’m back in the area will definitely eat here again.

Came in on the Friday after Christmas and they didn’t have any ribs ready. The BBQ pork plate spoke of their cooking skills. Not shredded or sliced, sort of chunky. I liked it. BBQ beans were great. (Not cowboy beans). Also tried their Gotcha Slaw which lives up to its name. Spicey. Also it’s not the slaw they put on their sandwich which is more traditional. Topped it with a banana pudding. Which thankfully had wafers and bananas, whipped cream and some nutmeg. Enjoy.

The service was great! Unfortunately the food was not. The brisket was dry and lacked flavor. We ordered the nachos on tater tots and it came out with chips. Not a big deal but they were not very good. Not a lot of toppings and cheap ingredients. My husband did like the ribs. Edlys is definitely way better.

First time here, had half rack of ribs with potato salad, and fried apples. I’m not a bbq connoisseur. I enjoyed the ribs, great taste, not wreaking of smoke flavor which is great for me. Meat was falling off the bone tender. Potato salad is the mustard kind which I like and was good. Apples were good to. I would revisit this place. Not busy when I went in, staff was nice. Place looked clean well kept, parking might be an issue when the place is busy.

After reading the reviews I wanted to try it myself. It is an award winning eatery. The trophies are proof! I ordered a 2 meat platter and banana pudding for $32.00 (tax included!) I had two sides and bread. The ribs are tender and juicy, the fried Catfish was a nicely seasoned lightly battered delight. The cornbread patty was good and southern and both the string beans and turnip greens could be stand alone dishes. I highly recommend and would definitely choose The Ridge over other restaurants. PS. Thanks for taking this picture with me. I was honor to stand next to this Champion. S/o to Aletha for being a great server!

Servers were cordial and helpful. My wife ordered the brisket nachos. We had to search for the brisket. Plenty of ingredients to hide the fact that there were only two or three pieces of cubed brisket. My wife said the flavor was just o.k. and that’s a big thing because she is a brisket connoisseur.
I ordered the pulled pork, baked beans, fried apples and potato salad. The pork was tender and lacked a whole lot of flavor. (Rushed)
The baked beans were out of a can and masked with BBQ sauce, not good at all, if you are southern then you know what they should taste like. You can’t rush good baked beans.
The potato salad was o.k. if you like yours made with mustard. I don’t. Did not eat it.
The fried apples were on point. My corn bread or flat Jack came with a surprise inside. Someone was rushing and cut the plastic wrapping off the box and a half dollar size piece was cooked inside my corn bread. I stopped and asked the waitress about this and she offered another piece of bread. “It only cost .50” . “I’ll give you one.”
I said “No thank you”. We are finished, paid the bill and left the remaining food behind.
Management did not show up or ask if there was anything they could do. Eat at your own risk. Jim ‘N’ Nick’s is my spot.

Good barbecue. Not as much smoke ring as I would like, but still tasty and not dry. Turnip greens are off the charts!!

The night started great ~ food was very good, and we were excited about coming back again when the bill came. It was more than expected. Upon reviewing, I saw they charged an additional $2.50 more than we expected. I ordered the bbq spud with brisket, which, if you look at the menu, doesn’t show any additional charge. Then my mom ordered the brisket sandwich, which came with one side. She chose french fries, which are usually the default side at most restaurants. The other $.50 was an upcharge because she selected french fries. When I questioned the waitress, she suddenly had an attitude and said, “I didn’t make the menu” which was quite the copout. I asked for the manager and he didn’t have better answers but said he would give us 10% off to offset those charges. The new bill came and it was higher than the first. Shows they added a dessert we never ordered and by then I couldn’t get the waitress back to address it so I had to walk uo to the counter to get them to fix it. Even though they have greet food because of the attitude and the pricing issues we will not be back.
