this place has such a clean and cool ambiance (not too bright, not too dark) and they’re so friendly towards students- they even have a student discount! 😀 i don’t know if they still have this, but they have an arcade machine!
torito bunz: 6/10 it was very juicy and fresh but i think the beans just weren’t my thing cuz of grease!!
bombardier fries: 9/10 these were so flavorful and loaded! we couldn’t finish so i had leftovers that i used for a a snack only critique is that the sour cream tasted a tiny bit weird

It was my first time here, and this is THE BEST burger I have EVER had, hands down. And, that’s coming from a fat man who can devour just about anything.
I ordered the Bunzilla burger, and holy smokes, this thing was cooked to my temperature level. I asked the cashier about the mayo based bun spread, and he assured me that if I didn’t like it, he would give me my money back. How’s that for customer service!!
The double meat burger had a cooked sort of crust that made me almost choke because never in my 44 years of existence had I ever tasted this so-called crust on a burger. Imagine the burnt ends of a brisket. It was that dang good!!!
The fries were cooked thoroughly and were hot and fresh. No complaints on these delicious, thick fries.
4 stars on the atmosphere for not having enough seating for handicapped people. Me being handicapped, I struggled to hoist my buns up on a high style pub seating area.
I will definitely be back the next time I visit San Antonio!!!

I am absolutely in love! Everything is fresh and so yummy! The bun is super soft, the meat tender, the chili has the perfect combination of prime ingredients , the fries are excellently fried, the quality of the burger fries and chili is great, and it fills you up without that slothy heavy stuffed feeling you might get from other places. Shout out to Alex the cook, not only does he cook amazing food, he is also friendly and courteous, you can definitely tell he likes his job and he is passionate about what he does. The entire atmosphere of this place inside and out is incredible. Y’all come and see for yourself, Everyone here has great customer service. Definitely impressive.

I’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened. I got a burger meal added bacon it was $15, my husband got the same and it was $15. My husband also got a chicken sandwich and it was $14 by itself a little expensive but said it was homemade breading. The burgers were good but we both asked for well done and mine was very rare and didn’t get to eat it all as it was just too red in the middle. I’m sure it was fine as I didn’t get sick but when you ask for well done please make it well done and not rare. The chicken sandwich was crispy but flavorless and my husband didn’t like it and only ate about a quarter of it. The best part to me was the bacon and the fries the fries were delicious hot and crispy. Would I come here again probably not but if my burger had been cooked correctly I’d definitely be back. Loved the vibes inside even though our table was a little sticky. The employees were nice and service was good bit for $55 I expect a better experience.

First time at Bunz and I don’t know why I waited this long! Everything was delicious! We tried the Z Bunz which is the classic burger. Loved the bun! It even smelled good like a fresh roll! The outside was soft but the inside was beautifully toasted. Seriously delicious. Also tried the chicken Bunz. I couldn’t decide which I liked more. The fresh sweet pickles were crisp and added a nice crunch with the slaw and spicy honey mustard. Chicken was cooked well and not dry. The fries are unlike any I’ve ever had. If I didn’t love the burger I’d go back just for the fries. Something about the shape makes them crispy but tender and they had the perfect amount of salt. Strawberry cheesecake shake was great. The guy who took our order (maybe an owner?) was super friendly and helpful with our order. Will definitely be back.

What an awesome an upbeat place for a super delicious burger. We were greeted and informed about the menu and different options from multiple employees! The music was a total plus that added to an already comfortable and cozy joint. The time from ordering to being served was very short. The food is served hot and actually stays hot. So yourself a favor and order fried pickles, onion rings and basically any burger off the menu. My kids and I really enjoyed the ambience of this location. We will definitely return! Thanks to the staff and cooks for knocking it out!

This is definitely a well-thought-out restaurant, and you can tell! First impressions were great, as they have their menu displayed at multiple points before you even get to the register to order, which was good because I forgot to see what drink I wanted. They have draft beer and creative milkshake flavors – two awesome choices to pair with a burger and fries. The food is crazy good. The patty is cooked exactly to the point you ask them to, the fries are well-seasoned, and the creative burger options they offer are sublime. I had the Show Bunz burger, which comes with thin slices of pear. The sweetness of the fruit perfectly matched and balanced such a big, savory burger. The interior design is really laid-back and comfy, with many seating options available, like booths, tables, outdoor seating, and even a couch/coffee table combo. We will be coming back to visit for sure. Loved it here!

But this little place was nice change of pace to the average burger joint.
I’m really not into Gourmet Burgers. And this place seems to be a gourmet burger place.
But I like the fact that their menu is straightforward and simple little too much on the menu if you ask me. So I just got the combo $12.99 comes with a burger, fries and a drink.
I like the place. Inside their Decor is nice, plenty of seating space. It’s clean inside.
Wait time wasn’t long and the young lady who took our order also brought it to us. I’m guessing if they’re not too busy they can bring you your food otherwise you do get one of those little beepers when your food is ready.
Got the bacon burger. You’re going to like the Buns hence the name. All burgers are cooked medium unless you ask. It’s difficult for me to give a accurate review because I just don’t get excited over Burgers but overall it was a very good burger, good flavor all around. They did forget my onions. One plus I’ll certainly say is I did ask young lady to make sure they burned my bacon extra crispy and they certainly did.
Their fries are unique interesting shape as you’ll see in the picture. They work, they’re good and crispy.
The other picture or the onion rings. Good batter crunchy I don’t know what that sauce is, I know one is ranch the other one, yeah guys that one’s kind of nasty.
If you like the thin stringy type of onion rings, these are not for you.
Overall I enjoyed my meal. I will go back, hopefully to try something different on the menu cuz they do have an interesting menu.
Oh by the way they have a very interesting selection of draft beer and have a good happy hour.
So if you do like gourmet burger types you like a different menu this place you will enjoy.
So I do recommend if you’re nearby make a stop.

Brought the family to Bunz today. They’re around the corner and in a different parking lot than their sign visible from the road, so drive past Tia’s towards the hotel and they’re near the Whataburger.
We ordered two kids meals, two Z Bunz and one Torito Bunz. With 3 drinks (the kids meals had drinks included) the bill was right at $80. For that price, I was hoping for a really good burger.
And that’s what Bunz delivered. My burger came out hot as if the bun was literally fresh out of the oven. The patty was juicy and flavorful. I got the Torito and the chili and jalapenos gave it a nice spiciness. My wife loved her Z Bunz (she added bacon and BBQ sauce). The twisty fries were seasoned and cooked perfectly.
I’m not a fan of sitting at high top tables with no backs on the stools, but for a party of 5 is was all that was available. Definitely a college town vibe in the restaurant overall.
Overall a great meal. In the future, this’ll probably be a date night only spot. With the whole family I can’t imagine the bill if we also indulged in their milkshakes or frosty adult beverages. Overall, highly recommend for a burger night.

The burger here is really different from other places that I have tried. It was not dry. Inside was really juicy! We took bunzai burger with their fries. Me and my husband shared it. They even cut it in half which was nice. They asked if we wanted it to be cut. The fries were good too! The place is clean. There is an outside sitting area which would be nice in winter. I really recommend anyone to try these burgers if you have not yet. They also have one vegan burger option. Will go back to try other one’s!
