I was HIGHLY impressed with this place. Such a cute, Tulum-style restaurant within a hotel. Indoor and outdoor seating with some views of the water outside. Our waiter Ricardo was one of the nicest servers I’ve ever had. He was so attentive to us and even gave us to go coffee cups filled up before we left. Oat milk with the coffee was heated, which I had never seen before! One of the best avocado toasts I’ve ever had as well.

Beautiful ocean-view brunch spot, perfect for photos and a girls’ day out.

Located in the hotel with a great atmosphere. Tacos and tortadas were tasty, and the shell-shaped cocktail was super cute. Would definitely come back.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Marelle! The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for dinner, and our server was the sweetest. Service overall was stellar and very accommodating. We were there to celebrate a few birthdays, and the restaurant surprised us with some prosecco and cake! We ordered dinner and a few cocktails, and everything was just amazing. Would happily return to Marelle for another intimate and delicious meal! Highly recommend!

In Santa Monica, on Ocean Ave just a block south of the pier, is the Sandbourne Hotel. It’s a swanky, oceanfront hotel with great views of the Pacific. Marelle is in the lower level, and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area overlooks the pool, but you can also see the ocean. There are heaters to keep you warm. The theme of the food is California and fresh. We enjoyed the most beautiful hummus plate, a Caesar salad, we each had a fish – Salmon and a white fish, and the mac and cheese (made with bechamel!). There’s a full bar and cocktails. It wasn’t very crowded for 8pm on Saturday in July, but there were lots of expensive cars, and a retirement party was going on nearby. If you want a healthy place with ocean views in Santa Monica, this is a great choice. There were couples and friends getting together, but I didn’t see kids or families.

We recently visited Marelle on Sunday during the holiday weekend. I had a special request as it was my girlfriend’s birthday brunch and they delivered. We had a really good table plus the lighting outside was impeccable that day. The food was amazing and drinks were amazing.
Very spacious, service was good, and they validate parking, but they only take off $10 so you still pay $10 for parking at valet. Other than that, would return again!

I was underwhelmed by Marelle. With the price point and some reviews I’d seen, I expected a higher level of food. While it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great.

Highlights were the crab cake and the lemon mushroom rigatoni.

Things that we were disappointed by: I love octopus, but this was way too tough. And came with a few pieces of broccoli and fried chickpeas. Tuna tartare had avocado filler in it, was a bit bland, and the bread that came with it was blah. Salmon was undercooked.

Not pictured was the shrimp scampi orzo which was good – again not worth the price point though.

The only redeeming part of this hotel is the restaurant.
The food was excellent and absolutely worth it, and the service was overall great.

For breakfast and brunch, do yourself a favor and sit inside. The outdoor seating gets hit hard by the sun, and the umbrellas can’t block the walkways, unless you enjoy being slow-roasted while waiting for your food.

Now, the food? Outstanding. The Jidori chicken sandwich was phenomenal, and the calamari with saffron marinara was genuinely to die for. Bold flavors, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care.

I’d come back for the restaurant alone without hesitation…just not for the hotel.

One of my favorite experiences in LA. Andrew the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and down to earth. He was kind and his service was awesome!

The food was also top notch. Steak was cooked to perfection! The wings had an amazing glaze and the cheesecake was also a perfect balance and combination of flavors!

Ambiance and atmosphere was also amazing and made me feel so relaxed after a long trip to LA.

I like the lobby.

I was taken to a table that was not even cleaned, then I finally sat down, however iI was set down at a table that was strongly exposed in the sun while the other 2 tables under the shade were available. I would say the staffs there were not as attentive as star-hotel required.

Then the food was kinda boring, and I hate that huge fork, and spoon looking so savage to me.

So overall, I did not have a good feeling here.

But good thing is my day was not ruined here after walking to Venice Beach
