I ordered a whole chicken that was stuffed with rice. 10/10, a side of rice with lentils and a cucumber and tomato salad. All of it 10/10. Healthy and delicious!!!
Palmyra Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine is hands down one of the best discoveries I’ve made in a long time, and believe it or not, it’s tucked away in the South Hills Village Mall Food Court! This hidden gem is delivering fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious Mediterranean food that rivals (or even surpasses) many standalone restaurants.
From the moment we approached the counter, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind and passionate owners. As we spoke with them, it quickly became clear why the food here tastes so fresh and vibrant, every single dish is prepared on-site using only fresh ingredients. They proudly shared their freezer is empty, which says everything you need to know about their commitment to quality. No shortcuts, no processed or frozen items, just real, homemade, family style cooking made with care.
Palmyra is not a chain, but a local, family owned and operated restaurant, and that love and authenticity is evident in every bite. We had various dishes including the Lamb and Beef Combo Platter, Lamb & Beef Shawarma Wrap, Falafel Platter, Hummus, Pita Bread and a variety of homemade sauces, and every single item and bite was bursting with flavor. The portions were incredibly generous, and we ended up taking home enough food for another meal or two, making it not just delicious, but also a great value.
One of the highlights was their homemade baklava. Rich, flaky, perfectly sweetened, and made with a touch of love, it was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had.
What’s even more exciting is that Palmyra won’t be staying in the food court much longer. The owners shared their plans to relocate to a standalone location in the Bethel Park, which is absolutely the right move. This level of quality and care deserves its own space, and I have no doubt the new location will thrive once word gets out.
In a world full of fast food and cookie cutter chains, Palmyra is a refreshing reminder of what truly great food is all about, authenticity, family, freshness, and heart. Do yourself a favor and give this amazing local business a try. Whether you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or simply love discovering high quality food made with integrity, Palmyra is a must-visit.
Palmyra Mediterranean Cuisine is hands down one of the best places I’ve visited. The food is fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic — from the juicy kebabs to the velvety hummus and perfectly seasoned rice. What really made the experience special was Rawah, the wonderful manager. She welcomed us so warmly and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Her kindness and attention to detail truly reflect the heart of the restaurant. If you’re looking for amazing Mediterranean food and genuine hospitality, this is the place to be!
