Food was awful. Order chow mien and it was just bean sprouts and celery. Kung pao chicken had no flavor. Sweet and sour chicken had no sauce on them. Would not go back here or recommend this place to anyone.

Yens is one of our favorite restaurants! I’ve been eating here my whole life and have never once been disappointed. My husband and I haven’t been in a while so we decided tonight was a good night. Same great food, same great service and same classic building that we know and love!
Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, and well, reasonable for today’s prices on everything.
Thank you Yens for the continued great food and service!

We really enjoyed our meal here today. We have been looking for egg fu young and they have 5 varieties. We tried the chicken one and it was really good and a huge portion. Three giant patties w gravy and a side of rice. We had the pork fried rice. Our table also sampled yens chow ma fun. It had bbq pork in it and the pork was so flavorful. I would call this American style Chinese done really well. Oh I forgot. The crab puffs were delicious too. Served super warm w side of sweet red sauce. We will be back.

I’ll start out by saying we ordered on Christmas Night knowing it was going to be busy.
It was, but they handled it great. My husband came in when instructed and they were still working on it. They kept him updated frequently and were very nice despite the volume of orders coming in and out. Also, our order was complete, accurate and delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Very disappointed. I do not recommend this restaurant, until they get a better cook. I was arived for lunch, and was politely seeted. He imediately returned with Hot Tea & Ice Water. After looking at the lunch specials, I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Fied Rice, and Sesame Chicken. A tasty bowl of Hot-and-Sour Soup was served (7/10). Next, my lunch special arrived. Immediately I could see that my Sesame Chicken was not Sesame Chicken, just bland, unseasoned nuggets straight out of the fryer. The waiter tried to convince me that it was Sesame Chicken, rediculous (0/10). The Kung Pao was prepared correctly, but was very bland (2/10). The Pork Fried Rice was sorta bland but better than the two meat dishes (4/10). I was super hungry, but couldn’t continue eating. I left a full plate of food, paid, then quietly suggested they needed better food to have return customers. An off-day for the cook? I don’t think so. A real disappointment, as the returant is clean & well decorated. They could be serving more customers if served tasty food.

A long time staple of Main Street in Downtown Tigard, Yen’s Chinese Restaurant has stood the test of time. It’s no nonsense, keep things simple and affordable, and great service has made this place a favorite with locals for years. So whether it’s dine in or take out add this spot to your “let’s give it a try” list. And, as always, don’t forget to support small business!

I LOOOVVEE3 this place. You get exactly what you walk in for … BUT portions are LARGE! We always end up taking home another meal. Prices are excellent for the current market. We make sure we go there at least twice or 3 times a month. I also have a Mushroom allergy, and at this point, they are so personal that the moment we sit down, they know hey, no mushrooms. That kind of personal touch keeps us going back.

Ordered take out during lunch time and was charged for dinner combo plate – still very reasonable price especially since all orders come with soup. When asking if it came with soup, the man said not take out orders. When asking for him to confirm my order on pick up, he did, but when I got home it was incorrect. My sweet and sour chicken was scalding hot and super soggy so I think it was microwaved. My other dish was incorrect. And the fried rice was good. Hence the 2 stars. But terrible sweet and sour chicken. Overall, won’t be back

The best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had!!! Service was excellent and the tea and food were piping hot. Delicious spring rolls. We tried the kung pao chicken, sweet and sour, pork spouts and fried rice. All great!

Combos are portioned well, everything tasted great and was fresh. I ordered to go each time and felt like the service and wait time was great. The young woman that helped me was very friendly.
I’m from out of town (Cali), and the kids and I really wanted some Chinese, or pan-fried or chow maine noodles at the very least. For some reason, every single non Ramen place was closed past 2pm even on the weekend, so I came across this place. Again, I’m not from the area, it’s much different than the Chinese food I’m used to in California, and it was more expensive as well, but that said it was still good, just different. I’ve visited twice ordering for the whole family, so I tried quite a bit of the menu. Favorites were the Sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, pan-fried noodles, and fried shrimp.
