First time here and loved it . We almost tried everything! I will recommend 100%. Here are pictures of everything we ate but my daughter got her food first it was a Dragon roll sushi and she devoured it too quick!! Pictures do their justice food was fresh , desserts were light , not too sweet just perfectly balanced. Staff was great and very helpful.

This was such a fun place to try! My mom and i drove from Wyandotte and found that it was well worth the trip. It’s a little expensive, but for what you’re getting i think it’s well worth it and fairly priced! I got soufflé pancakes and my mom got waffles, both of which were delicious, and the presentation of our food was so pretty! The staff was also very pleasant, I’d happily make the trip again 🙂

I came to Umai Café in Troy for my birthday because I really wanted to try their soufflé pancakes — and they did not disappoint! They were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the sando, which was just as good — flavorful and satisfying.
The café itself has such a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the staff were very kind. The only small hiccup was that the posted hours said they open at 11:30, but they didn’t open until 12:00, so keep that in mind if you’re planning an early visit.
Overall, it was a wonderful birthday treat, and I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!

Love this cafe!! Came in for the fluffy Japanese pancakes and they were fantastic! Got one order of each flavor and couldn’t choose a favorite, they were all so delicious. Can’t wait to go back to try the sushi!! Wonderful service, staff, and impeccable environment. Arigatōgozaimasu

Umai cafe is the perfect spot for lunch after a winter hike. The cafe is clean & cozy and the staff were very kind. The food was good and the chocolate avocado smoothie was decadent. The miso soup and potato salad taste fresh.
The cafe has a projector to play video clips and gentle music to create a pleasant atmosphere. The cafe is tucked into the corner of a strip mall, and is situated next to a fitness studio that unfortunately has no soundproofing so for a portion of our visit the loud noise had a negative impact on the experience.
I look forward to visiting again and love that there is a local spot for avocado smoothies and fresh onigiri.

Everything we had here was fantastic. The waffles are great, easily enough for two. Coffee is very smooth, no bitter or acidic heavy taste. I’ll be back to work my way through the entire list of waffles. For science.

This place is so cute and such a hidden treasure! We tried their sushi, waffles, tea, and iced coffee and everything was really good. Their portions are also quite large, the waffles are definitely sharable lol
