Reviews
It was so nice that the restaurant had lots of parking & the food came out hot & delicious. The prices are super reasonable & I can’t wait to come back & ask for Mercedes again! Thank you El Maguey! I enjoy supporting your business!
This is The WORST place to have a meal! The service was TRASH and food was bland! My friend and I, had to ask for menus after we seated ourselves. The waitress and the hostess were condescending, rude, and unfit to be in customer service. I don’t eat large portions of food and I’m in a calorie deficit right now. So, I asked for a kids taco salad and she said, “no, that’s for kids only”. I said, “Okay, I’ll take it to go!” She then repeated what I said, with suspicion, sarcasm as if I had asked her if I could take it to go. (I’m paying what difference does it make?!!) I looked at her and repeated my statement. I then ordered 2 street tacos and a glass of wine. My tacos came out, I ate one…chips & salsa, some of my friend’s guacamole.
A while later, the waitress brought my salad out. As I opened the bag that the food was in I noticed that she was still there then continued to stand there, I thought she had the check. (No, she was trying to see if I was going to eat the salad.) I realized this once an older woman came from the back and stood near the wall watching me, as I put my other taco in the bag. (At this point I started to realize what was happening.) Once she noticed me staring back at her, she left.
Soon afterwards, a man came from the kitchen & stood in the doorway staring at me. It made me extremely uncomfortable! I stared back at him, then he went back in the kitchen, only after I said out loud, “let me write a review about this place!” “ So, you all are going to bully me over a $5 taco salad?”
He waited, then came back out to stare at me more. This time I told my friend to look at him. She turned around and was in shock. I then moved over towards the wall, so that I was out of his view. He proceeded to walk towards the bar so that he could continue staring at me. I took out my phone, took a picture and video of him staring at me. Not smiling, not engaging, and without any customer service skills or etiquette at all.
I found this to be disrespectful, rude, inappropriate and it made me very uncomfortable. I felt threatened! I am posting this engagement on all social media platforms, so that people know how they will be treated upon visiting this place.
Please do not waste your time with this company for anything. Go somewhere else! They don’t deserve to be apart of our communities if this is how we are treated!
I am writing to formally document a dangerous incident that occurred during my visit to your location on January 29, 2026.
I ordered a chicken taco salad. Because the error was not immediately apparent, I began eating the meal before realizing it contained the allergen. I informed the staff of my life-threatening allergy to deep-sea shellfish.
While your staff apologized and remade the dish, the damage was already done. I was charged the full $67.00 for a meal that physically endangered me.
I chose to pay and leave quietly at the time, but the lack of an automatic discount or a manager’s intervention to address the gravity of the mistake was unacceptable. I came home violently vomiting and now I have the worst headache
Sincerely
Aderia
