Decent for Fargo, bad for BBQ.
They have an extensive menu, which is good for a family outing and kids, if you want somewhere decent in Fargo. However, do NOT compare it to good BBQ. The nachos are topped with cheap, cold ingredients and their driest brisket (if that’s the meat you get) and each new/extra topping is EXPENSIVE (see the pic for how small the pico was, the salsa cup was 4 oz and the price of half a jar at the store, and they charge extra for sour cream, probably because it comes in a packet). The ribs were only okay, there’s no hot BBQ sauce available, and the cornbread was dry (saved only by the drizzle honey topping).
Overall, we left feeling full (decent portion size) but unsatisfied and wishing we had gone somewhere cheaper and more reliable.

A friend recommended this place so we gave it a try for our son’s birthday tonight!
The atmosphere is VERY clean, comfortable and relaxing. The decor is very homelike and American!
The food is better than anywhere we have ever eaten, no joke! We had 7 people in our family there and had everything from their amazing brisket platter, to their Mac and cheese bowel, loaded nachos, and a couple unique delicious appetizers.
The best part may have been our waitress Amy! It was like having a friend serve you dinner, a fun and funny friend!
Our family can’t wait to go back!

Jay’s Smokin’ BBQ did an AWESOME job catering for our wedding!!! The communication leading up to the wedding was always timely and Brianna was so awesome to answer any questions that came up from us! We updated our food menu a couple different times during wedding planning and they always handled it with grace and ensured us it was no problem! On our wedding day, staff did a great job and they were so friendly and smiley. We got SOO many compliments on the food from our family and friends, one friend even said “the most memorable wedding meal she’s experienced” – it truly was delicious and presentation was 5 star as well!! We so appreciate Jay’s and will be forever grateful for their service on our wedding day!! (The red velvet cake was way too good, too!)

I rarely give places 5-stars, but this place sincerely deserves it. We were lucky to catch this place at a slow time. The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the entrees. Everything was finger-lickin’ good. If you’re not familiar with what the “itis,” basically, it’s when you’re so full that you feel like it’s time for a nap. This place will definitely give you the itis. When we got on the road, I was out like a light.
We will definitely be returning to this restaurant. Thank you for an amazing experience.

I have a hard time going out for BBQ it never seems to be that good. BUT this place is on a whole new level. I can’t list everything that tasted good because everything was good. It was actually amazing. There should be a line of people 10 blocks long waiting to eat there. We will most definitely go back. Best BBQ in the state of ND.

OK service and overall good food. Unfortunately not a home run on the brisket (which is the main character), but I am sure they know better and I will visit again to give it another go.
I ordered:
– Smoked and fried wings (very good wings and very good sauce – I would have these again! Believe the sauce was “mango habanero”)
– Brisket, lean and fatty (taste was good and fat seemed to be OK rendered, but still a bit chewy. It came in a sloppy pile and not as sliced brisket which should he the way to serve this when it’s not sold as “chopped brisket”. Not possible to separate point and flat when everything is one common pile…)
– Ribs (good, tasty ribs. Tasted like they might have been chargrilled after smoking which was a nice touch)
– Jalapeño Mac’n cheese (very good side dish! Creamy and very tasty – would definitely have this again)
– Cornbread (OK tasting cornbread, but a little on the dry side)

Ate here for brunch and it was awesome! Their breakfast options were all very tempting but we settled on breakfast tacos (bacon and pulled pork) with hash browns, and the cinnamon sugar coated French toast with bacon and breakfast potatoes. We came in at 1 and had to wait a while for the food, but it was worth the wait! Everything was hot and tasted good. All the meat was tender and moist, eggs and French toast were nice and fluffy, and the potatoes were crispy and light, just needed a little salt. I will definitely come back soon for lunch/dinner. (Everything cost about $35)

Now I’m a KC girl. Jack Stack, LCs, Arthur Bryants, Gates, Q39 and so on are some great places for BBQ. Even the hole in the wall places for BBQ are good. Now I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. BBQ for BREAKFAST? BREAKFAST!!???? CHILE! The brisket wasn’t dry, and had the right ratio of fat to lean meat. The eggs were good. Home fries could’ve been dried a minute or so longer. Beingets were okay….it’s just that the inside were alil, too doughy. I know beingnets from my frequent travels to Louisiana. Still. I’d visit again….and again….and again. The food was damn near perfect.

Things I liked – There were various seating options available including high top booth, short booth with high privacy backs, and table seating. The food came out hot and was presented well. All of the meats had a nice texture, were juicy, and weren’t full of unnecessary fatty pieces. The sauce bottles at each of the tables were nice and clean, not all sticky or covered in dried up sauce. The ribs had great flavor!
Things I wish were better – While the pork and brisket were wonderfully moist I wish they had been more flavorful on their own. I would love to see them open later on Fridays and weekends in the future. I also wish they had been able to offer turkey at the time of our visit, but sadly they were sold out.
