Really impressed with this place. I went on a Sunday. They have limited hours on Sunday. I was there a little before their opening time and the place got crowded quickly. Service was great. I sat at the bar (bar chairs were not that comfortable). Food was good especially the dressing and fried fish. Green beans tasted bland and like they were frozen or from a can. Other than that I would highly recommend. Prices were reasonable

I really enjoyed myself here. I have been looking for the best soul food spot because sometimes I miss my step-dad and he really introduced me to the culture.. RIP♡ I loved their greens BUT they didn’t have vinegar I need my vinegar & hot sauce but their pork chop was so buttery good omg I want some more thinking about rn. Their wings was little salty but their sauces made it less salty I favorite hot & spicy sauce but their other sauce was good too. We came during the slower time so it was really nice to enjoy the place alone. It was such a good time.

Such a unique place! Absolutely loved it! I had the Horseshoe menu item. Omg…the sauce! Such a unique flavor! Delicious fried chicken breast! My husband had The Old Bay Bowl…I snuck bites of the shrimp and mac-n-cheese. It’s the kind of food that makes you close your eyes and sigh.
Please make a trip to support local! Fantastic place!

I ordered food that I didn’t receive my chicken is pink my macaroni is old and it looked like they’ve scraped all the bottom parts for my dressing Baken Fried chicken or my gravy I’ve never had a problem with them before today but this experience was the worst ever I ordered food for myself and my staff all had had an horrible experience

This cozy little restaurant serves southern style soul food. Fried chicken and fish. Food was hot, prepared quickly and our server was very professional. I recommend this restaurant for dining. They also offer grub hub and door dash. While we were dining, about an hour, there were at least 35 to go orders ordered through these services. This restaurant also offers catering for events.

Oh this place was the place! I definitely will be back! The food was incredible. As far as service there was only one sever on the floor and she still did her thing. If you’re a cognac type of person when it comes to liquor they carry D’Usse and Remy 1738. The ambiance was really nice and a classy/up scale vibe. “Best Soul Food in St. Louis” is a legit claim. ITS A MUST GO!!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and overall, the experience had its highs and lows. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 45-minute to 1-hour wait but to our surprise, we were seated in by 15-20 minutes by Ms. T. That was a pleasant start, especially considering how busy it was. It looked like there was some kind of convention going on, and for it to be so packed early in the afternoon, I took that as a great sign that the food must be worth it!
However, as our visit went on, it became clear that customer service is an area that needs attention. The restaurant seemed short staffed, and I noticed several guests looking for assistance with no one immediately available. While the staff members who were present remained friendly, it was obvious they were stretched thin.
We ended up waiting about an hour for our food, and during that time, we were only given one update. That lack of communication made the wait feel even longer. I understand that we may have come during a rush, but regular check-ins would have made a big difference. For future guests definitely don’t come hungry, just in case you’re met with a similar delay. The food was good! I enjoyed the sides mostly!! Yams, Collards and Mac & Cheese was delicious. My fries and fish was not hot, however, I didn’t complain! In the end Makala replaced the fries. She was amazing.
That said, I want to shout out Steve, who was working incredibly hard, clearing tables, helping customers, and clearly doing everything he could to keep things moving. Also, Makala, our waitress, was kind and tried her best to keep us informed and comfortable while we waited.
Unfortunately, there was a moment that stood out for the wrong reason. A staff member named Nya (or Nia) was visibly rude to a customer picking up an order. As a paying guest myself, I found the tone and approach to be unprofessional and unnecessarily harsh, especially in front of other patrons. Regardless of stress levels, how staff communicates matters! Customer service is the foundation of any great business, and experiences like that can make or break a customer’s impression. If she holds a leadership position, I hope this is addressed, as that kind of behavior sets the wrong tone for the entire team.
In summary, the food may well be worth the wait, but customer service should never take a back seat, especially in a busy environment. With a few more hands on deck and a stronger focus on communication and professionalism, this place has the potential to be a favorite. I would return again.

I made reservations when I arrived the place was packed however I was seated immediately at my reserved seat. The food came out hot, fresh and quickly. The staff was welcoming ,the atmosphere was comforting. I went with my sons who both are chefs and they gave it a thumbs up.

Everything was excellent. Ebony, our server was very attentive. The food was amazing and flavorful. I will definitely be back! Make sure you make a reservation to reduce the wait time.
