I’ll definitely be back to dine in—the place looks super cozy, and the service was friendly and efficient when I picked up my order. Pro tip: Call ahead to make sure they still have whole rotisserie chickens available, as they can sell out.
Overall, solid takeout and looking forward to trying it in-house!
One of the best dining experiences we had all week in Boston! Artu on Prince Street in the North End completely delivered from start to finish.
We began with the most perfectly cooked calamari—crispy, tender, and easily the best we had in town. The sliced bread was delicious on its own, but even better as a mop for the amazing sauces that followed.
The mussels appetizer, cooked in a garlic and white wine sauce, was packed with flavor. We couldn’t stop dipping the bread in that sauce.
Artu’s house-made spaghetti is perfection—cooked al dente with the perfect bite. I had the melanzane (eggplant) parmigiana served with that incredible pasta… Mama Mia! Hands down the best I’ve ever had.
We also tried the spaghetti and meatballs and the penne with red sauce—both were absolutely delicious.
From the quality of the food to the cozy North End vibe, Artu is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
To my surprise the food was phenomenal!
I ordered a caprese salad that had super fresh mozzarella and tasty tomatoes. Short Rib ravioli was right after as a main course, and also amazing!
As I was finishing my meal, Artu filled up with patrons looking to grab a drink and a late night snack.
I was glad that spontaneity and a little luck landed me at Artu! Great place with awesome food.
Update 12/21/2023
Brought my two older sons here. Just as awesome as the first time!!!
We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. While the place wasn’t crowded, it was incredibly hot inside—no ventilation, no airflow, just stuffy and uncomfortable.
What made it worse was waiting 47 minutes for our food, even though multiple tables that came after us were served long before we were.
And unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. The Pollo Saltimbocca was unbearably salty, and the Spaghetti Carbonara had a weird bitterness—most likely due to bad pancetta. We were really hungry, yet neither of us could finish our meals. That says everything.
The only redeeming qualities were the well-made cocktails, a kind and attentive waitress, and the fact that we were seated without a reservation.
But honestly? Next time, I’d rather go to McDonald’s. If you must come here, come for the drinks—but skip the food entirely.
We came in last week during the Fisherman’s Feast, so it was incredibly dead inside but we didn’t mind cus we enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Ambiance is so/so. Food was so good that the other minuses didn’t really matter (but still does).
We got the scallops appetizer – that left us fighting for the last bite because that’s how good it was.
I got the tagliatelle bolognese- I’ve had better buttttttt it was still delicious!!
My bf got the veal parm – not rubbery, not over cooked, just right. As you can imagine, that too was all gone.
I got a glass of NZ SB, can’t remember the name but it was crispy, lots of bright fruit with a little bit of a longer finish. Paired perfectly with the scallops.
Service – wasn’t bad, she knew when to be there and when not to be. The only issue I have is awareness for the busser. As I mentioned, we were the only table in there so banging plates to set up an empty restaurant made us feel little uncomfortable.
All in all, ARTU’s was a 9/10.
