I picked up a whole rotisserie chicken with Brussels sprouts and potatoes to go. The portions of the sides were generous, and the flavor of the Brussels sprouts was really delicious! The potatoes were good but definitely could be improved. The chicken itself was very tasty, juicy, and a great size.
I’ll definitely be back to dine in—the place looks super cozy, and the service was friendly and efficient when I picked up my order. Pro tip: Call ahead to make sure they still have whole rotisserie chickens available, as they can sell out.
Overall, solid takeout and looking forward to trying it in-house!

A very great place for a cocktail and great Italian food. Cozy bar that makes a great drink. One of my favorite places in the North End. Try the Espresso Martini, Dirty Martini, or Lemon Drop.

One of the best dining experiences we had all week in Boston! Artu on Prince Street in the North End completely delivered from start to finish.

We began with the most perfectly cooked calamari—crispy, tender, and easily the best we had in town. The sliced bread was delicious on its own, but even better as a mop for the amazing sauces that followed.

The mussels appetizer, cooked in a garlic and white wine sauce, was packed with flavor. We couldn’t stop dipping the bread in that sauce.

Artu’s house-made spaghetti is perfection—cooked al dente with the perfect bite. I had the melanzane (eggplant) parmigiana served with that incredible pasta… Mama Mia! Hands down the best I’ve ever had.

We also tried the spaghetti and meatballs and the penne with red sauce—both were absolutely delicious.

From the quality of the food to the cozy North End vibe, Artu is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

It’s a fine restaurant. We had a handful of their dishes and nothing was really great. Nothing was bad either and we enjoyed eating overall but it’s absolutely not a place you go out of your way for at all. Their bolognese is extremely mediocre, had to add seasoning, pasta was over cooked, their veal parm was actually tasty but the pasta accompanying the dish was again average. Excellent gin martini though, props for that, was just warm. Finally the restaurant is HOT. Make sure to ask for seating in the areas with ventilation.

Love the little bar area of Artu. We would have missed it if not for the friendly outdoor greeter. We had a shrimp scampi pizza and some mussels. Both were delicious. Our bartender was friendly and attentive.

I got to Boston late one night around 10:30pm. I was very hungry and started exploring what kitchens were still open. Decided to take a walk on Hanover Street. Around 11pm took a right on Prince Street and opened the door to Artu. There was no one there except a couple of people behind the bar that alerted me that the kitchen was still open. I had a very low expectation of what I was about to consume.
To my surprise the food was phenomenal!
I ordered a caprese salad that had super fresh mozzarella and tasty tomatoes. Short Rib ravioli was right after as a main course, and also amazing!
As I was finishing my meal, Artu filled up with patrons looking to grab a drink and a late night snack.
I was glad that spontaneity and a little luck landed me at Artu! Great place with awesome food.

Update 12/21/2023
Brought my two older sons here. Just as awesome as the first time!!!

“Disappointing experience – come for cocktails, not the food.”

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. While the place wasn’t crowded, it was incredibly hot inside—no ventilation, no airflow, just stuffy and uncomfortable.

What made it worse was waiting 47 minutes for our food, even though multiple tables that came after us were served long before we were.

And unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. The Pollo Saltimbocca was unbearably salty, and the Spaghetti Carbonara had a weird bitterness—most likely due to bad pancetta. We were really hungry, yet neither of us could finish our meals. That says everything.

The only redeeming qualities were the well-made cocktails, a kind and attentive waitress, and the fact that we were seated without a reservation.

But honestly? Next time, I’d rather go to McDonald’s. If you must come here, come for the drinks—but skip the food entirely.

We were recommended this place by a gentleman we met at carmelinas. So glad we stopped by.

We came in last week during the Fisherman’s Feast, so it was incredibly dead inside but we didn’t mind cus we enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Ambiance is so/so. Food was so good that the other minuses didn’t really matter (but still does).

We got the scallops appetizer – that left us fighting for the last bite because that’s how good it was.

I got the tagliatelle bolognese- I’ve had better buttttttt it was still delicious!!

My bf got the veal parm – not rubbery, not over cooked, just right. As you can imagine, that too was all gone.

I got a glass of NZ SB, can’t remember the name but it was crispy, lots of bright fruit with a little bit of a longer finish. Paired perfectly with the scallops.

Service – wasn’t bad, she knew when to be there and when not to be. The only issue I have is awareness for the busser. As I mentioned, we were the only table in there so banging plates to set up an empty restaurant made us feel little uncomfortable.

All in all, ARTU’s was a 9/10.

Charlie our server was phenomenal! Best service I’ve ever experienced in the North End. He was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Food was delicious! Over a year we tried around 40 espresso martinis in the North End, we ranked this one #2! Would’ve been #1 but they don’t add 3 beans. Highly recommend!
