After living in the area for over a decade, we finally stopped in for a lunch. We were promptly greeted and sat ourselves. The restaurant is very clean and I was pleased to see the open kitchen and shiny clean stainless steel! We ordered enchiladas and wet burrito meals and they came out right away. The portions were average and the rice and beans were really good. The chicken inside of the burrito and enchiladas was a shredded chicken not that the menu stated ans fajita style. . We left satisfied and would likely return.

We highly enjoyed our dinner date here. There was a little confusion about our order, and that’s likely because we had a total of 5 servers. Food came out quickly on a busy evening. The horchata drinks, and food were excellent.

Had a great meal at Mexican connection. Had the 3 meat fajita. Food was great service was very good. Only negative feedback would be it was noisy as the building is small and it was full that day. The food came out incredibly fast after we ordered

Food was horribly prepared, fajtas burnt and stuck to the skillet and the small portion for the price was mostly onions and peppers and maybe 2 ounces of meat total between the shrimp, chicken and beef. The chicken was out of a bag frozen kind with fake grill marks. No seasoning in anything except the guacamole which was too over salted to eat. The server forgot half of the sides that went with the fajita. It was lunch time and they weren’t busy. She was just too busy talking to her buddies in the back and acted like we were an annoyance by being there. She didn’t check on us one time and we had to ask her to get the rest of our food. Everyone in hastings loves this place but it’s the third time I’ve given it another chance and every time has been worse than the last. This was the last which is unfortunate because I always try to support my local small town businesses over chains.

Had a great meal and great service until we went to cash out. They have signs outside and at every table promoting gift card specials. Buy $50 get $20. So I asked to purchase these. The owner said I could but cant use them until March or April due to the economy. I said ok ill just pay for the $50 gift card then. He said the same thing. Doesnt make sense because im paying upfront for it. He then got very angry and loud and began ranting about how Trump is the reason he cant do the gift card specials. Trump is ruining him. And he went on and on. Was told by an employee that he does this to everyone. U r drowning your business sir. Not Trump. With behavior like this I dont expect his place of business to b around much longer. Also dont promote false specials. They were going to b christmas presents. But now none of my family or friends will ever set foot in this establishment again.

I had a great time here, I had heard raving reviews about Mexican Connexion before going, and it certainly lived up to it’s name! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and fast, the decorations were wonderful, and I had great company with me. Overall it was fantastic!

The place is a bit dingy but the food was very good! I had a taco dinner that came with two tacos, beans, and rice for $10.99. The shells were cooked just the way I liked them and the hot sauce they gave me was TOP NOTCH. The beans were some of the best I’d ever had! Quite the value meal at $10.99 for the amount of food I got and the quality, too!
My son’s nachos were a bit lackluster on the presentation but he agreed that the beans were amazing.
My youngest got a corn dog meal and we were pleased to see it come with huge steak fries.
They also give you chips and REALLY GOOD salsa upon sitting down and apparently you get refills too because we were refilled twice I think.
The restaurant is old, dated, but it had its own nostalgic charm. Food was great. Service was good, but nothing spectacular.
I can see why this place has been in business so long, though.

I really enjoy the food here. In the past several weeks I’ve met friends here for lunch, gotten a dinner take-out meal, & stopped by for a quick snack while btwn errands. Tasty & satisfying plates of yummy standards @ reasonable prices. Not fancy, just consistent & I luv supporting locals.
