I have been there roughly 3 times , you can tell its family ran because the customer service is terrible . You have to get their attention , the food is warm when you get it but it’s not always good. The yams were great , they tasted very good.. and the collards ! But the Mac and cheese was very soupy and the ribs they gave me were very HARD , had barely any sauce and the cornbread was okay. The portions are great but it’s just badly ran , and the red velvet cake was great ! I forgot that part , food is very inconsistent- sometimes it’s good .

All I can say is that I 100% regret being excited about trying this establishment. I ordered the ribeye steak, mac n cheese, greens and potato salad. The potato salad pictured below was spoiled and the other blob is supposed to be Mac n cheese. I asked for my steak medium well it was well done but it was seasoned ok. The greens were also ok, nothing to rave about at all. I’m not from this area I’m visiting from New Jersey so this isn’t a “get back” review by any means. Any potential customers, I would think twice before ever visiting this establishment. Please do better because this was so very unacceptable.

I walked into the restaurant all the staff just looked at me like I was crazy. The cashier told me my total I paid. Then she went straight to go look at her phone ♀️. There were guys sitting outside the restaurant in their chairs. Just a welcoming experience. And all the food I purchase needs bette/more seasonings. Ribs, macaroni, greens , yams & cornbread.

The upside is that the food is presented fast. The cakes are phenomenal. The place was clean and very organized. Unfortunately it’s all down hill from there. The atmosphere feels as if you’re in their way. This is definitely my first and last time visiting this establishment. I spent over $30 for my client and the quality of the food and customer service was unacceptable. The oxtails were not tender, the greens are sugary and they add their own fees to your receipts. I still left a tip but I won’t be back. CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING WOULD DEFINITELY ADD TO THEIR SUCCESS.

We love exploring new soul food restaurants and we were glad we stepped into this one!! I had the three wing dinner with 3 side. The selction was amazing! My fresh corn was a 10/10 although a bigger portion would have been appreciated. Fried green tomatoes were about par to all the othes Ive had around town. Macaroni was sweeter than most.
Cornbread very soft and moist.
Drinks were mid. “Stew meat” was good to taste but more than likely was roast beef. Atmosphere was nice. Music playing and tvs tuned the NFL game! Was greeted very warmly by a pretty girl but that’s about where the warmth stopped. Not much in the way of service although tips are still requested. Would recommend greatly for game night and to go spot.

Looking to go somewhere after church on Sunday or family meal on a budget Tasty Soul food and bar has what you looking for they so much to choose from all your favorite soul food traditions items are here you get one meat and 3 sides we can tell the food was cook with heart and soul our favorite sides was the bake beans, collard greens, yams, Mac cheese our meat choices were Fred catfish $16.99 and Oxtail tail 23.99 omg everything was season to perfection the oxtail was tender and fell off the bone however it had some fat on some of the pieces the outside appearance could use some updating inside was large enough for large families which we love they also have a small bar behind the counter I didn’t see them advertising and market the drinks there is a large parking lot free parking definitely recommended if you don’t feel like cooking, after church meal it good Sundays dinner the portion sides are large the operation hours were awesome they stay open late which I love because there are only very small amount that do for soul food I try banana pudding it fell short now banana in it was very dry not much flavor I wish the staff would have smile more and interact more with the customers definitely will return

Y’all lied the food wasn’t giving. I went around 1:50pm on a Saturday and was told macaroni wasn’t done. They open at 12 pm. So it wasn’t prepared? the ox tails weren’t cooked to perfection hard to chew. The yams were cut huge. I really wanted this to be good and it wasn’t. Felt like I ate some slop. Fed oxtails to my dog. Do not recommend. Oh yeah I paid over$20 for this.

Great food!!!! definitely has room for improvement! This is a black owned restaurant in the heart of district 25. Southside greenville. I would love to see these people grow this restaurant into a main go to establishment for greenville. When I go back again I’ll provide pictures of the food.

Tasty Soul Food & Bar, was . I’m currently living in Atlanta and so I had to do searching online from home. And Maaaan she didn’t disappoint .Shaniqua (hopefully I spelled her name correct ) she was the best helping me plan the catering for my Daughter’s Babyshower. Everyone loved the Wings ( Lemon Pepper & Honey Barbeque) and the Mac n Cheese. Everyone enjoyed the Food . So whenever I come back to Greenville SC I will Definitely be hitting them up again. Thanks again . Sorry I was so busy forgot the pictures of the Food ♀️

I’m a certified soul food snob—if it doesn’t taste like somebody’s grandma made it with love and attitude, I’m not impressed. But Tasty Soul Food came through like family on Sunday!
I ordered the pork chop dinner with yams, cabbage, and mac & cheese—and let me tell you, that pork chop definitely came from a two-parent home because it was seasoned right, fried right, and loved right. The mac was perfectly baked, the yams were sweet without being candy, and the cabbage had that “I’ve been simmering all day” flavor.
This wasn’t just dinner; this was a hug on a plate. I’ll be back, plate in hand, ready for seconds.
