Update: 7/26/25 we’ve been in a few times since the last review. I didn’t mention it on the last review but the food was just warm and they were really busy so I just told the server. I thought I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since they were busy and just trying to push out plates. However, the next time was the same thing. Waitress tells you hot plate, but the food is just warm. The hot plate will not make up for warm food.
I had the vegetarian combo with mild green(not vegetarian anymore since the green has pork) but it was really good. Even the mild has some spice to it. The guacamole tostada is a great compliment to this plate. My wife had the cheese enchiladas with red. The chile was very flavorful. We also ordered the chile cheese fries and asked for half and half. They put one chile on top of the other. I’ve never known any restaurant to not put half on one side, and half on the other. They weren’t very good mixed. I would have given it 5 stars if not for this. Lastly, there is a review from Nina S. that said this restaurant doesn’t know what hot is. There must have been a mix-up or something on their order because the hot is way too hot and the medium is probably as much heat as I would ever want. I don’t understand how you would want or need something so hot that you can’t even enjoy the food. The consistency of their spiciness has been consistency over the years, and if anything, it’s only gone up a notch. I would always prefer something that tastes good and you can enjoy over something that is so hot that you can’t.

Working temporarily in town and this is by far my favorite spot. Food is always delicious and pairs great with a Cadillac margarita . And the green chili is amazing!!! I always get great service here. I’m definitely packing up with some tamales & containers of green chili to go when I leave town.

Everything we ate was fantastic! I came back to the valley hoping for authentic tortillas and green chile, and decided to stop here for the first time. The tortillas were so good, I ordered more to-go before we left. We both got hand-held burritos with green and red chile, both were amazing. Service was friendly and prompt, atmosphere and parking is relaxed and welcoming.

When I told a friend from Texas, who’s into hunting that I was moving to Alamosa, he recommended Nino’s as best place to eat out, he was right!
I highly recommend there beef nachos, so far it’s the best nachos!

Poor slow service from inexperienced staff who are obviously overworked. In June our party of (10) waited over 1 hr to just get beverages to our table and we proceeded to rotate through (3) staff before they could even successfully take our order, another 45min to deliver food. When I politely demanded to consult a manager I was repeatedly denied by disrespectful staff. I am forgiving and so tonight I came back with low expectations just wanting a margarita. It took 15mins to take drink order. The waitress was nice and apologetic, not her fault, she is clearly overworked. No bartender, waited another 20 mins to watch her finally make our drinks herself. So it took upwards of 40 mins to get served a margarita. The restaurant was clearly busy on a Friday night with no bartender. In the timeframe of an entire 1hr 15 min it took to get served one drink and check out, the only drink order I watched completed at the bar was ours. Its pathetic that an establishment with approx 75 patrons at once on a Friday night has (0) bar staff and just a few overwhelmed servers.

This is the first time I have tried Nino’s and I am very pleased! I ordered the Taos Enchiladas and they were super yummy. Very nice looking restaurant, kind staff, and plenty of items to choose from. I will be back.

As a Colorado native with a second home in Arizona, I have eaten a lot of Mexican food, and am always on the lookout for a good enchilada. Our hotel recommended Nino’s and I was really impressed. Just flavor everywhere! The ground beef in the tacos was seasoned perfectly. The mild green chile was delicious with a touch of heat. The cheese wasn’t the choking cheap wax yellow stuff, but a delicious blend that melted just enough. I’m thinking about going back again tomorrow!

This is a do not miss when you visit Alamosa! Wonderful green chili in three heat levels so everyone can try it. The wait staff was hustling and were so polite and quick on their feet. We haven’t had this great of service since before the pandemic. The chimichanga and rellenos were both fire! The atmosphere is super cool with private booths old school bar and flickering lights. We will always come back here every time we visit.

We were en route from Albuquerque to Pueblo, and stopped for gas in Alamosa. It was noon, so I asked the gas station attendant for a recommendation – he said, Nino’s next door is really good. So we went to Nino’s, and it was great! To be safe in an unfamiliar restaurant, I ordered Nino’s Burrito and my wife ordered Nino’s Combination. Both were very delicious! The server Dennis was super friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly. Atmosphere was very pleasant with lots of locals. Prices were very reasonably. Highly recommended. (Note: there are several Mexican restaurants at that corner, so be sure to select Nino’s!)
