Very disappointing experience. The beef and cheddar sandwiches were extremely dry and crusty, to the point where it was hard to even choke down the beef. The flavor was just bad overall. We also ordered cheese fries, which were heavily over-salted, and the fries weren’t even fully cooked. The entire meal was pretty disgusting and not enjoyable at all. Definitely not like any of the other locations. Don’t waste your money.

If you want your order correct, or any semblance of an enjoyable experience, do NOT come to this location. Beef-A-Roo in general is a great establishment but this location is a joke. My food order was incorrect, I asked for a pork tenderloin with cheese and ketchup, that’s it, instead it came with everything on it, pickles and onions as well. It took 20 minutes as it was to get my order so I didn’t want to wait another 20 for another sandwich so I just picked off the other toppings. I asked for a half lemonade, half tea, NO ICE. Was brought a full lemonade with ice, told the server it was supposed to be half tea with no ice, she brought it back with tea in it and still full of ice. Because this location is only outdoor dining, in order to sit and enjoy a meal not inside my truck, I had to instead fight the bees and flies for my lunch. The only good thing was the cheese fries, and the fries themself weren’t even fresh, but they were okay enough with the cheese on them. First and last time visiting this location. I want to reiterate that this is not a reflection on the chain in general, just this location.

The food has really improved since the last time I’ve been here. Rockford’s locations are generally better in quality, but my recent order was perfect! The only gripe I have is that they forgot to give me barbecue sauce, but it’s just a little nitpick. Overall, definitely a better experience.

Got home and no lettuce and no sauce on the crunchy Buffalo Chicken Wrap (ranch or buffalo) Waste of money. Didn’t mind that the Freeport location doesn’t chop up their chicken tenders first but not what I usually expect. Also waited almost 40 minutes and wrap around traffic into the road is a mess when busy.

Went for a Cesar Chicken Wrap because they are so good at the one in Rockford but wasn’t impressed by this one. It was mostly lettuce and parmesan cheese with little grilled chicken and there was no Ceasars dressing in it so not real flavorful. I also got the cheese curds and they were clumped together and so greasy. So maybe just an off night? They were very friendly just need to work on making the wraps better.

Good food and friendly service. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
The shakes and cheese fries are my favorite.

Sunday 8/31/25. Pulled in the drive through at 12:40 in the afternoon. I ordered 2 grilled chicken ceasar wraps and 2 fries. With 3 cars in front of me, it took 16 minutes to get my food. The fries tasted old, no salt, and cold. The wraps are poor excuses for wraps. It had been 2 years since I had last eaten at a beefaroo and it will probably be my last. Just a waste of money on barely eatable food.

Ordered a Turkey BLT, double cheeseburger and two cheddar fries. Came home with a double cheeseburger, two small plain fries and a lettuce, mayo, tomato sandwich. Tried calling to see if we could come back and get the correct food ~ had to leave a voicemail.
Guess we’ll see if I get a call back.

huge improvement over the last few months… It’s understandable that at first there were quite a few kinks to work out at this new store. However, on my last visit, my food was exactly how I ordered it, hot and delicious! The new manager on site is very nice and has this place running well! Stop in and give it a try!
