Ordered loaded fries with brisket with mild bbq sauce. The bowl was full of bbq sauce and grease so the fries were soft mush when it was brought to me. The mush didnt taste bad, figured i should have asked for no meat or bbq sauce….
My partner ordered the link plate. Links weren’t spicy and were bland.
We were the second wedding to get married next door at the comedy club a few years ago. The food we had at our event was from Hambone’s.
We had been wanting to try this place and finally decided to drive down. We parked right out frontand walked in to an empty place. We were greeted from our waitress though the kitchen doors and told shed be woth us in a moment. Sat down and we were brought out our menus about 10 mins after. Ordered our food and waited a fair amount of time to get it. While we waited we saw a man come in to pick up food, he waited in the front area over 10 minutes pacing and calling out for someone to help him, no one came out the kitchen or acknowledged him so he walked out upset and went to another door? Saw him leave with two bags of food through the window.
After we got our food our waitress left for lunch and we were told another waitress would assist us. We sat and waited awhile for the other waitress to come out so we could ask for the check and get a drink refill, she never came out so we had to get her attention though the kitchen doors. Another man walked in at that moment, she greeted him and he said he was trying to figure out what he wanted to order. She didnt give him a menu but she grabbed our cup to refill it. She went back to the kitchen. We waited another 10 minutes for our check and the man walked out since no one helped him or talked go him again. When we got our check, it wasn’t even our check. And it was almost double the price of our bill. At this point of the waiting for service we were ready to leave.

This review is to improve placing all orders correctly purchased in the bag. This is the second time this has happened. If you don’t forget to charge me for all items ordered please don’t forget to give them to the customer. Don’t make an excuse of being busy for not giving my order correctly. Also, if a customer has to drive back because of negligence that is a inconvenience for the customer, you should at best offer something for the trouble. Like a free dessert, 10% off their next order, a free drink. Its the principle of the matter. The food is decent and tasty. If I had to say the greens are mostly stalk not leafy.

Bowls were just $8 and you were still deciding which portraits to hang on the walls. That history makes this experience especially disappointing.
On my recent visit, I picked up two Soul Bowls and drove back to Gardena. Upon opening the containers, I was shocked and frustrated to find a shockingly small portion of Tri-Tip. It was so minimal I couldn’t even taste it. For nearly $20 per bowl, what I received was essentially baked beans, mac and cheese, and what felt like a trace of meat.
The portion size was not only underwhelming-it was disheartening. I expected better care and consistency, especially from a place l’ve supported for years. Had it not been for the traffic on the 91 Freeway, I would have returned immediately to request a refund.
To the owners: I’m voicing this disappointment out of respect and history. I’ve watched your business grow and rooted for your success, but experiences like this hurt your reputation. Please make sure the quality and portions match the price and loyalty you’ve built over the years.

It took me over an hour to type this review, but it was worth it…it takes me long time to type now. I am disabled, but I had to leave a fantastic review! I’ll be honest; I’ve only been to Bellflower once, this past Friday. The baby back ribs and brisket tasted exactly how I remembered it. I was a Huntington Beach customer. My husband and I used to order from Hambones at least once a week. Every Thanksgiving, we ordered our meal from Hambones. Who wants a traditional Thanksgiving meal, when you can have Hambones bbq! We were so disappointed when the Huntington Beach location closed.
I’ve never tasted bbq like Hambones. More people need to know about this bbq restaurant. I guarantee that these people will thank me. When Hambones closed in HB, reluctantly, we had gone to another bbq restaurant. The other bbq restaurant didn’t even come close to Hambones! I just want to say, if you want bbq done right, you need to go to Hambones in Bellflower!

Let me start by saying these Ribs were Absolutely amazing delicious smoked ribs smothered in their signature spicy BBQ sauce oh but wait that catfish was PERFECT it left us with wait I want more!! Super crunchy exterior with delicate flaky texture inside…just perfect! Cornmeal well seasoned double coated I’d say to get that amazing CRUNCHY and flavorful taste.
Our Baby Back Ribs: a delightful bite of delicious smoked meat that was BBQ just right meat falling off the bone with every bite!
Collard Greens I picked spicy(Mexican woman) love spicy food…just right for mom and I to enjoy and share with our friends
Garlic Mashed Potatoes: Garlic goodness if I’d say…enjoyed these
Cornbread: sweetness from the corn made our dinner pairing just right with the spice we picked from BBQ sauce and Spicy Collard Greens
We were absolutely delighted with our dinner and the service I got that day from Maggie and Nia will always be greatly appreciated. I will definitely return to order again for our next family gathering dinner

I was looking forward to some exquisite bbq and large American portions. The food was decent just boarder line of mediocre. The price was not worth the quality and portion size. But it’s understandable with the current inflation. Slightly over priced for barely warm food and plain taste.

The food is absolutely amazing. Its flavorful, but in a familiar way, maybe like the way your Uncle would make it, the one that enjoys barbequing. The service on the other hand is lacking. Friendliness and a sense of gratefulness could go a long way. If the service can improve to an A standard from a C then this would always be my first go to for some incredible food and great service.

A hidden gem. California style BBQ. I met the owner and grill master Keenan. Who took such pride in his smoke room , which he was kind enough to show me. 3 dynamic smokers were adjacent to the kitchen. He opened up to show me he was doing beef ribs. Which he sent a sampler to our table . Delicious. Now the food , that’s the best part . We had a lunch 3 meat combo. We both had a hot link, brisket and baby back ribs smothered in the tangy sauce. Our sides were collard greens , macaroni and cheese and potato salad. Mac and cheese was baked with a nice crust. Hot and cheesy. A 10 plus.
Potato salad can definitely stand up any family picnic. Spicy greens were good. Cornbread was excellent.

I’m going to be real. Majority of the demographic eat there because we don’t feel like driving to Inglewood or slauson for a plate of soul food. I prefer Dulans on Crenshaw, woodys BBQ, simply wholesome but I have to be in the mood to drive out there. Y’all got me messed up when you served me cornbread that taste like baking soda, collard greens with no taste just hot water. It’s a hit or miss depending on what you order BBQ is fine but don’t order tacos it’s not their specialty. The meat is flavorful but the BBQ sauce really carrying the food. The portion sizes are good but It really depends on what you order I changed my review. 7.8/10
