One time and done situation.
Discussed the lack of flavor with another customer and they shared the chicken in the taco salad looked like tuna when it comes out of a can. Finely shredded. Hard to go out when the customer is constantly disappointed. It costs too to go out and then have a bad experience. First photo is when it came out of the kitchen, good presentation.
Second photo is what wasn’t eaten.
Wait staff asked if I wanted to take it home. Answer —NO!
Now because the chips, salsa and appetizer was so good, we couldn’t help it. We ordered Chimis Ranchera appetizer. Even in that pic someone had peeled one off the plate before I took the pic. It came with 4. The salsa and guacamole were fresh and awesome. I ordered the Carnitas Uruapan. Perfectly cooked and seasoned pork. The rice and beans again, awesome. The portion was healthy and I was definitely full after. Another ordered the Chimichanga Grande, I guess because the appetizer was so good he wanted more. Once again really nice portion of food and fresh ingredients. Lastly an order of the Chicken Tortilla Soup. She said it too was really good and was glad she ordered it.
Outdoor patio seating, cantina and lots of tables and booths. Food came out fast and our waiter was very attentive.
So, if you’re in Redlands and haven’t been to Las Fuentes, we definitely recommend it.
My wife and I both had the 2 combo plate. I had the chicke enchilada. The chicke was so tough I cound not cut or chew it. The sause was burnt and beyond bitter. My wife had the cheas enchilada. Will give it a 3 on a good day. The Chile rellonos were just so, so. The sause was not great. The chiloes were wau over cooke and muxh. The bottom line it was nasty. Now I know why we stopped going there. So bad. We were asked if we wanted to pay extra for lemon for our wate. That is chicken scratch. Like most resturaunts in San Bernardino County they it was very bad. I travel all over the country and world and get into LA once a month and LA has many good resturaunts. Skip this place.
We got an urgent call and needed a minute to order (it was probably 5 minutes). We saw our waiter preparing table side quacamole in the kitchen and someone else had to take our order as that occupied him for some time.
I got cheese enchiladas and my husband got chicken mole enchiladas. We order these at most places when we are trying it for the first time. The sauce was very tomatoey to me. It wasn’t my favorite. My husband said the mole was ok. I also got the Redlands sunset margarita which was very tasty, but I couldn’t taste any liquor.
If I could give a 3.5, I would.
