I recently visited Sushi Noma in Langley, and honestly, it was one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The quality of the fish, the freshness, and the presentation were all exceptional. Every bite tasted incredible — even the soy sauce and spicy sauce were so flavorful!

The rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, which really showed how much care goes into every dish. On top of that, the service was outstanding — everyone was so kind, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcome.

For the quality you get, the prices are more than fair. It’s clear that Sushi Noma truly values both taste and hospitality. I can’t wait to come back again soon. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic, high-quality sushi! ✨

We had sushi here, it looked beautiful, but unfortunately the taste didn’t match the presentation. Overall, the sushi was just okay, nothing special. The service was also pretty average, almost non-existent.

The sushi was really good, but the ramen was absolutely pitiful. It seems like they use itchiban noodles and the broth was tasteless. The chicken had zero flavor. I didn’t bother even trying to finish it. When the server came back, she would have had to notice my bowl was barely touched, but she didn’t ask how it was. She just brought the bill.

We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we entered the resto. There are plenty of seating for indoor and outdoor dine-in options. The food was freshly prepared as you placed an order, and their serving portions were pretty decent.

The patio door was kept open, so some flies got into the dining area.

I ordered take out, teriyaki chicken roles along with other items. My son went to pay for the order and they informed him the teriyaki chicken roles will be another 10 minutes. He paid for the order. I went into the restaurant with my son to confirm they were making the teriyaki roles and the worker confirmed. I asked if my son paid for the amount that was quoted on the phone and the lady said yes. We got home and noticed they gave me teriyaki chicken instead and charged me for it, which was $30 more than my order. I called the store and they refused to give me a refund after explaining to them there was a clear misunderstanding between both parties. The owner wanted me to bring the food back in order to get the refund. I asked what would she be doing with the food, the owner mentioned she would eat it. The most awful service I have received and this is the first time I have left a Google review. Will not be going to Noma anymore for sushi and we have been customers since the restaurant has opened. Will be looking for a new sushi place in Langley.

Replying to the owner, I called an hour after because when I checked my credit card the amount was different. When I came into the restaurant with my son your worker took the original receipt off my purchase, after I confirmed if the amount charged was $30, and she said yes. So I did not question it and I asked if the teriyaki chicken “rolls” were still being made and she also said yes.

My son confirmed he did not ask to make the teriyaki chicken instead was confirming if the teriyaki chicken rolls were in the order. Clearly there was a miscommunication and misunderstanding. Yes, we did find it odd why there was a teriyaki chicken included in the order and the rolls. However, because of the extra item in my order I checked my credit card and the charge was $60 not $30, and your worker did not give us a paid receipt when my son paid for the order so we didn’t know what was charged. If a receipt was given I would have questioned it. We knew it was a mistake and yes we did try the teriyaki and threw it away because it was not good. I was not going to drive back 20 minutes to your restaurant to complain so when I had a chance in the evening I called. The quality of the food in general was not good, and from I’ve heard the quality and service has gone down at Noma with the new ownership.

I was caught off guard when the owner asked to bring the food back, then she will give me the $30’refund and she will eat the food and not throw it away. Never have I ever heard anyone say that to me or anyone else I know in a restaurant business.

I spoke to your staff with respect and not once raised my voice. I just stated the facts and he seemed to agree with me but the owner didn’t. Bad service, food was low grade quality not like it used to be and bad owners not knowing how to retain clients.

I’m honestly really disappointed with our experience at Noma Sushi. From the moment we sat down, the service felt unfriendly and uncomfortable. Staff kept staring at our table in a way that felt more like pressure than attentiveness. At one point, soup was spilled on my sister and instead of apologizing, the server blamed her, which didn’t feel professional at all.

When it came time to pay, I asked if we could wait a moment, but the server kept hovering around us with the card machine and repeatedly walking by our table, clearly trying to rush us out. It made the whole end of the meal feel awkward and stressful.

I also want to be honest about something that bothered me: during our visit, there were three other tables being served around us, and it appeared they were receiving much warmer and more attentive service — including special treats — while our table was treated coldly. I can’t speak to intent, but the difference in how we were treated felt very noticeable and uncomfortable.

Food aside, service is a big part of the dining experience, and unfortunately this visit did not feel welcoming. I hope management takes customer experience more seriously going forward.

Noma sushi used to be our favourite suchi place close to our home. The food was amazing and our go to was the chicken teriyaki which was served with tons of vegetables on a hot plate. We would get a whole chicken breast sliced up and sizzling served to us, now they serve the chicken teriyaki in a small bowl with a couple of chicken pieces which have no takes, barely any veggies and quite tasteless to be honest. We liked the way it was served before we have not wanted to go back there since new ownership. I hope they reconsider and change the menu back to how it used to be because it was perfect before. The service also went down a little bit, we asked for drinks and after waiting 15 minutes we had to ask again. The music the previous owners played made the place feel like a great environment now its lacking environment

OMG everything was sooo good!!
The Teriyaki Chicken Salad was insanely tasty . The chicken was so soft and flavorful. Salmon Oshi and Unagi Oshi were perfect, and the Tempura was super crispy! You can totally tell they keep their oil really clean, it tasted so fresh and light.

Their chili sauce wasn’t too sweet (finally ), and the Salmon Sashimi was huge and buttery; iterally melted in my mouth
Amazing food, super nice staff, and I’m 100% coming back!

Noma is very typical of sushi restaurants in local neighborhoods. The menu includes a nice blend of the usual favorites with some in-house creations for those wanting something different. We appreciated our waiter telling us about the flavor and scent of the seafood we were ordering. It was a level of care and attention that was welcome.

The rolls and sushi were fresh and flavorful on the whole. Large rolls were oversized for single mouthfuls and the vegetable roll was mostly spring mix salad available at any grocery store. The BC roll was full of cooked salmon, rather than toasted salmon skin as normal. However, the food was all quite tasty.

Where the restaurant misses five stars is in cleanliness and upkeep. The inside seating seems more of an afterthought and the place is showing wear and tear. One particularly bothersome part of our meal was the flying insects. We encountered an aggressive wasp, house flies, and small fruit flies. If we were outside, I would understand; but we were inside and away from the door.

Is this sushi restaurant worth a visit? Yes, I think so. It is not going to be destination dining; but a good choice if in the area.

My bf and i eat here almost x2 a week — great pricing, atmosphere and their sushi is so fresh. We order their sashimi every time, it’s one of the freshest in the lower mainland and we’re lucky it’s so close by. Staff is very friendly too, always happy to see them as a regular 🙂
