Friendly staff and hot food. We ordered the flaming hot chicken strips was worried they would be too hot. They were not. Little heat, not much. Very good!

Born and raised in Ottawa, been coming to this Dairy Queen my whole life (I’m 31). Never worked here, almost did (have friends who have) but I DoorDash in town sometimes and when I do. I always end up with Dairy Queen orders and the staff are always the friendliest at this Dairy Queen location.
However I’m writing this review because I’ve done DoorDash across the US (43 states so far) and this is the only Dairy Queen I’ve ever been to that gives out this 5 visit blizzard hole punch card.
A lot of restaurants come up with perks like this for Dashers and I love and appreciate it. Free drinks, free dollar menu items (sometimes at some places), free blizzards at Dairy Queen. These DoorDash perks (at least for me) tilt the offset balance of what I don’t make with tips.
So thank you to Dairy Queen in Ottawa for thinking of Dashers as well as customers.

Every time you go to this location expect to wait an hour or have them yell you they don’t have your order. This time was especially bad. Waited in the lime for 20 minutes without it moving at all. Got out of line and drove to a apot as the line was backed up to main almost circling the building. My husband goes in side.. two you people not doing a damn thing and one older gentleman doing all of the work. They couldn’t give a car in the world. To make it better got home and my BBQ tenders. Where’s the BBQ? Maybe the same place as their work ethic.

The big overall manager was rude. I had came to dairy queen the night before and got a cone with marshmallow. The workers were so sweet and having fun with it as it was a slow night. I came tonight and asked for a cone with marshmallow, the worker said she was unsure if she could do that and I had told her they made it the night before with no problems. She went to get the big manager and ask him to talk to us. He got on the mic was rude. He told us that he would not have approved of this and that he will not make it. I told him that it wasnt a problem the night before and asked if I could get a little bowl of marshmallow and have them just sit the cone inside the cup. He was very disrespectful and told me he wasnt doing that. Finally he put something down and our total was 3$. A regular cone is more than 3$ so we knew it was wrong especially because we needed 2. We get to the window and ask if there was 2 vanilla cones with the marshmallow. The kid looked at his manager and brought him over. The manager looked confused and annoyed that we asked for a cone now. I told him that I know that I need to pay for the marshmallow and the cones. He walked over to our marshmallow and split it into 2 and put 2 vanilla cones in it. I had asked who the manager was that was working yesterday just so I could see what the problem was. He stood there and disrespectfully told us that he wouldn’t have approved of that, he said he wasnt working yesterday but that wouldn’t be allowed. He never told me who was working and then proceeded to say “The reason we dont do this kind of stuff is because it makes people like you unhappy”. Which was very rude. We just wanted a cone and marshmallow, it did not have to be this difficult. Usually I don’t make reviews but this was just uncalled for.

Food was good, I like their chicken tender boxes. I asked for an extra side of honey mustard in addition to the gravy that comes with the box unfortunately they misunderstood apparently and all I got was the honey mustard and no gravy… Just be sure to double check your order. Service at the drive through was good and faster than normal when I went this last time. Atmosphere was great considering I was in my own space in my car

It was chaotic with two trainees and a backed up lines due to a abundance of business and customers but. The manager had it completely under control and got everyone their food in a timely manner, made sure the orders were made right, and lead by example among her crewmembers. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a good job and hustle from any fast food restaurant like that in my life. The food was excellent and the crew was friendly and quick on service. Well done night shift of 6/2/25. Well done.

Customer service was amazing!! They were very friendly and helpful – probably one of the best I’ve ever gotten from a fast food restaurant – and had the small town feel with the same taste of any other DQ. Service was also incredibly fast and efficient. I got my drink and when I sat down my food was already being brought to my table. I would also strongly recommend the $7 meal deal as it includes a main meal, fries with dipping sauce, a drink, and a sundae of your choice!

Hire people who want to do their job. I ordered the sauced and tossed chicken strips not chicken strips with barley any BBQ on them, which I got after I had to come back and get the right food . Could at least make my stuff saucy at that.
