Very dinner looking in a nice way. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Belgium waffle was great. Tried it with the fruit topping and was good. Think it would be great with butter and syrup. My husband had the French toast platter and eat every bite. Will return on others visits.

Good waitress and good food. I quite enjoyed the pancake platter. The only low point was the side order of grits wasn’t that good but everything else was fine

Good food and good service. It’s located near the iconic post office, so an easy stop before/after taking a selfie 🙂

OMGGG this was the best country cooking that I’ve had. It’s tastes like home AND THE BANANA PUDDING if you leave without trying the banana pudding your low key just missing out… and a bum (jk maybe)

Tried Johnny B’s after a suggestion from coworkers. Wanted to try their steak and see what it is like. Plus they have breakfast choices all day. From the outside the restaurant looks small but is plenty big. You get to seat yourself and there was plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly and always attentive to what we need. The food took a little while but I believe it was my steak that held things up. The fried pickles were excellent. I’m not a huge fan of fried pickles but I ate a lot of them. My wife said her breakfast was great. Her only issue was the eggs still had a tiny bit runny white parts. My baked potato was good and it has real bacon on it not bits. The steak however was very disappointing. It was supposed to be a ribeye but looked and tasted more like a sirloin. There was no crust on it and was even a little more rare than medium rare as ordered. I am still open to go back again. And since most everything else was great I will for sure give a good rating. Als they were very attentive to my shellfish allergy and I had no issues after. Give them a try if in the area.

Great locals spot. I had breakfast and the ham was top notch but a little too much butter on my wheat toast. Next time I will order dry but other than that my experience was good. Coffee was also good as I took a large one to go.

I’ve been to this establishment a few times and never really had any issues. A friend and I went for breakfast, and they burned the Pancakes. When my friend told the waiter the Pancakes were burned (on both sides), the waiter replied “Burned?” with a look on confusion on his face. After which he just stood there several minutes before offering to remake the plate. My friend declined not wanting to make a fuss, but the food was terrible. I tasted for myself just to see. To add insult to the experience, at checkout we let the cashier know that the food was burned. She gave the same “performance” as the waiter. Never really apologized, but offered a 2.99 discount (yes we did the math) and then had the audacity to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. For less than mediocre service and burned food, I think not. Will neither be retuning nor recommending to anyone in my circle.

This is my second time in Texarkana. I like the local joints because they tend to be a bit less expensive. This place doesn’t disappoint. Down Home food, pleasant staff, and great price. It was busy. The food wasn’t bad, but it lacked a bit of panache. The portions were plenteous, especially given the price.

I truly enjoyed the service here. It was the day after Christmas and, not being from the area, I wasnt sure who would be open. Glad this spot was. If you are looking for good diner food this is a good choice. The staff is friendly and you really get a feel for the local people, which is nice for me and my family when we travel.
