A quiet and cozy little restaurant. The seafood is excellent, and the beef is also very good. As you know, we’ve eaten far too many Basque charcoal-grilled steaks heavily sprinkled with sea salt, so this steak with black pepper sauce gave us a comforting, home-style feeling. The orange liqueur sauce on the dessert was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it’s a place I’d happily return to.

Actually, I’ve been to this restaurant twice, and I highly recommend everyone to try it! The owners are incredibly kind, sweet, and generous. I’ll definitely come back whenever I get the chance — the seabass dish was the best I’ve ever had in my life.

We were there for a lunch and two dinners in 7 days. Excellent food and even we couldn’t speak Spanish, the lady, likely the owner, was so passionate to introduce her food to us. Thanks for the staff from Ukraine translate and service. Cold soup, anchovies in vinegar, Gamba Pil Pil, Paella, and the whole fish, all are so good. Just bear in mind, the price of fish is on kilogram, ours was slightly over 1kg, tasted so so good. I’m sure we will be back next time.

Excellent dishes throughout.. from clam starters, simple white wine and garlic just hit the right spot. And the croquettes with the aioli is superb. We went for paella as mains. One dry one, one wet one. Both were delicious. The seafood was fresh and sweet. The rice was cooked perfectly. A highly recommended spot.
A big bonus is the service. Run by a husband n wife team (Spanish and Ukrainian), a dream team indeed. Attentive, friendly and you feel like you are in their home.

Cozy, comfortable atmosphere with good seating.
Baked Dorada fish with a variety of vegetables was very tasty and cooked well.
Cons:
1) Misleading Menu Pricing: The menu listed the baked Dorada fish as “1 kg – 52 €” for two people. I assumed that meant a 1 kg fish would cost 52 €. In reality I was charged almost 80 €, with staff saying the fish weighed 1.3 kg. This felt like a bait-and-switch pricing tactic rather than clear communication.
2) VAT Charged on Top: The menu prices did not include VAT and the bill added it separately. I wish I knew in advance that under Spanish consumer law, prices shown to customers must include VAT so that you know the final cost before ordering. It means that adding VAT afterward without clear total pricing is NOT LEGAL.
3) Service Fee Added: on top of everything else a service charge was added without prior clear notice on the menu.
In the end, although the restaurant’s atmosphere and food quality had some positives, the pricing practices seriously undermine the experience. Do not get misled by positive reviews. I do NOT recommend Maradentro.

On arrival at our apartment it was a grey day with fine rain. We walked 1.5 miles to a tapas restaurant, ordered food, but it never arrived, thankfully. My wife had seen this restaurant nearby, so we walked another half mile, and it was worth it. Owned by a Ukrainian/Spanish wife/husband team, we were greeted by Enrique with huge smiles and shown to a table inside (given the weather). It was hard to choose (if you love seafood, this is a great place), but eschewing the clams on a special, we went for a seafood Fideuá. What a superb choice. We were told it would take at least 20 minutes to cook. Not a problem, we had some delicious bread, olives, and a red pepper sauce to keep us going, not to mention a delicious verdejo wine. The Fideuá was absolutely gorgeous with 6 huge prawns that were so juicy, along with clams, mussels, squid and fish. What a meal and very plentiful. Enrique was happy to pack the leftovers up for takeaway.
Feeling full, we declined a dessert, but as it was my birthday, I ordered a carajillo. It was superb. Well laced with brandy and then Enrique came over and asked if I wanted it topped up with a bit more brandy and offered us complimentary drinks. I took a bit extra brandy but we declined the kind offer of complimentary drinks.
What a great place. Couldn’t fault a thing. Attentive service, great food at a decent price and Enrique and his Ukrainian wife are absolutely lovely. We got soaked walking home, but so worth it.

They rely on tourists not scrutinizing the bill. The high rating is completely misleading – avoid this place if you value honesty and fair pricing.
