The 1886 Grill Smokehouse at Homestead Golf Course is a spot that definitely knows how to deliver on flavor. My recent visit with a party of eight turned out to be a hit with everyone, and it’s safe to say we’ll all be back for more.
I ordered the burnt end sandwich, which I was looking forward to, but it turned out to be brisket rather than the traditional burnt ends. Despite this little surprise, I wasn’t disappointed—quite the opposite, actually. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of smokiness. It might not have been what I expected, but it was really good and definitely satisfied my barbecue cravings.
What really made the experience stand out was the consistency across the board. Every single person in our group of eight loved their orders, which ranged from ribs to pulled pork and beyond. It’s rare to find a place where everyone’s plate is a winner, but 1886 Grill Smokehouse pulled it off.
On top of the great food, the service was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It’s clear they take pride in both the food they serve and the experience they offer.
Overall, 1886 Grill Smokehouse is a must-visit, whether you’re finishing up a round of golf or just in the mood for some solid barbecue.

Prices are reasonable, staff is great and super friendly and responsive, food is really good. It is next to the new pool area so it is very relaxing sitting under an umbrella and listening to the waterfall. If you’re staying at homestead or nearby, or if you are golfing, this is worth the stop instead of driving in to town.

Food was great! The 1886 burger was amazing but the steaks were a tad bit too dry. Fries were so good! Awesome service, servers asked if they could offer our dog a water cup!

YUM!!! This will definitely be one of our new go-to’s in Midway/Heber for delicious food! Our family ordered the Smokehouse Pizza with brisket and double bacon (the pickled jalapeños just made it perfect!), the Margherita Pizza, the S’mores Pizza, and sides of sweet potato fries and Mac n’ Cheese. The wood fired crust was so, so good with all of these pizzas! And the sweet potato fries might be my new favorite – soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and just the right amount of sea salt! We got our food to go (hence my photos of half eaten boxed food) and did wait about 15 -20 minutes, but the food was so delicious I would wait that long again! Well done, 1886 Grill!

Mert was our waiter and he took great care of my wife and I. He asked if we were on our honeymoon (which we were) and had a smores pizza in the shape of a heart made for us on the house! George the chef came out and congratulated us and gave us dinner on the house. I am very happy with the service and kindness we were shown here. 10/10 recommend

It could be a really good restaurant, but they need to step up the service. Also, they were out of chicken on the day I was there. The pepperoni pizza was amazing, but the rueben was not good. Great atmosphere as it is right on the golf course. Must try for grill fired pizza!

This was an outdoor, poolside, golf resort that served food, not a smokehouse. Tritip was small sad and chewy. No smoke flavor whatsoever. Drinks come in plastic cups. Service was ok but not great. Beans and chimichuri sauce were really tasty.

The food was delicious! But the service is another story. Our server just couldn’t get my drink straight. We tried 3 times. She failed each time.

Need to state first that our actual servers when we visit are absolutely amazing but 1886 is always understaffed and it’s obvious. Especially a weekend or live music night, why make your staff suffer like that?! We’ll continue to visit because we love the resort but this should be fixed ASAP.
