I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet. We’ve been going here for over 25 years now. It’s definitely our go to location for takeout Chinese food. Everything we’ve gotten from them is unbelievably good. Never had a bad dish, they’ve never got our order wrong after all these years. Never really eaten inside, it’s kind of rundown looking. They go to pretty quick usually about 20 minutes from the time you call it’s ready.

Excellent food and service. 5 stars as an overall rating even though I have had better egg drop soup and the lo mein was better than most but not the best. The biggest reason my wife and I loved it is because most places use imported sauces and dont know their ingredients (most of which contain pineapple). My wife has a pineapple sensitivity/allergy that gives her really bad stomach cramps so when most chinese food places say they dont use pineapple in their sauces we never believe them. This place said their sauces are house made and they were able to give us the list of items used in their sweet and sour sauce and reassured us nothing they make uses pineapple. So she gave the gyoza with sweet and sour dipping sauce as well as sesame chicken a try fully prepared to take some pepto when we got home. She had never had sweet and sour thus she was taken aback falling in love immediately. No stomach cramps!!! This is our new go to restaurant for chinese food here in Idaho. I almost forgot, the portions are family sized and we were very happy to enjoy leftovers the next day.

Absolutely best Chinese hands down in town! Enjoy coming here, staff is friendly, love seeing Jess on the weekend! The food is fresh & delicious, always comes out as we ordered. They also have a carry out option, and to oversized groups exceptionally!

We grew up going to this place and came back to town and wanted to go to one of our favorite restaurants. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. The food was old and tasted terrible. When we told the wait staff, they offered to remake it but that would have been pointless because everything is premade so it’s not like it would have been fresh anyways. Or they offered to take half off ONE of our entrees. Definitely won’t be going back. I also wouldn’t be recommend New Hong Kong to anyone else going.

First time going here or to any Chinese restaurant in IF area. I have had amazing Chinese food in both chinatowns in NY and CA. I would say that the orange chicken was ok. The fried rice was a little bland for my taste. This restaurant was recommended by coworkers of being the best. I’ll have to try a few others before I claim that but for IF it was ok.
Went on a Sunday and it was dead. Staff were super friendly.

This is such a nice, friendly place with people who really care preparing and serving delicious food! New Hong Kong is our favorite, and our go to for dine in or takeout! Thank you to everyone there for all you do to make your guests feel welcome and for the excellence and generosity of your menu, the cleanliness of your restaurant and the warm welcoming atmosphere! Try it today, especially the chicken lo mein with chili sauce – wow!!!

WORST SERVICE I’VE EVER HAD!! They gave me a faulty bag- one that they KNEW was faulty- I take their instructions and take it to my car carefully, however, the sauce was already BROKEN INSIDE THE BAG LEAKING EVERYWHERE but I hadn’t noticed it yet; when I grab the bag to move it, it completely ripped sending ALL MY FOOD ONTO MY, NOW, STICKY CAR FLOOR!! I LOST $40 ON THIS AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME AT ALL!! The girl on the phone was INCREDIBLY rude idk how she even has a job!!! She wouldn’t let my talk to ANYONE ELSE!! I know if I pulled that at my jobs I’d be FIRED!! What a joke!!

Tried two dishes, beef and broccoli as wells as the Cantonese chow mein. Both were delicious and large in portion.

Next time I will try the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice.

We saw that this place had gotten an award for something like, “Best Chinese in Idaho Falls”? So obviously, I had to find out for myself and… OMG were they not lying! I have now been in twice and have abolutely LOVED their food & service both times!! Hands down a 10 out of 10! The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice & clean! We will definitely be returning for some more sweet and sour chicken! Thank you New Hong Kong!

Always love getting food here. Mandarin Chicken and moo goo gai pan with fried rice are my go to choices but never had anything I don’t like. Lunch and dinner portions are both decent size for the price. Good service that is fast and friendly.
