The ribs were incredibly tender and packed with flavor so good you don’t even need sauce or utensils. The sweet potato fries were piping hot, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of sweet. The Mac and cheese had a slightly firmer texture than I prefer, yet the taste was still excellent. A truly satisfying meal!

Sorry, but I had to ask to turn on the heater for the dining room.. never removed are coats. Food wasn’t very hot dogs to the temperature inside. Not a lot of meat on the sandwichs. Just a bad night don’t think I will return.

Walking in I was a bit confused because there was no greeting and the place to order was towards the middle of the restaurant. Once we figured it out, it was smooth sailing and so worth the confusion.

The ribs are so tender and full of flavor.. no sauce or silverware needed! The sweet potato fries were hot, flavorful and just the perfect amount of sweet. The Mac and cheese was a bit overcooked for my liking, but the flavor was good.

Overall a good experience and I would definitely be back.

overall score is 6.5/ 10
The 3 meat platter was really good! But the sides are bland, cornbread was amazing, for the price your paying I’d expect them to give me a decent amount of fries and all I got was a little bit of fries and to top it off it was really soggy fries and bland. I got Cajun fries tasted nothin like it. i also got the smoked chicken and gaved me like 2 little tiny pieces was dissapointed because they didn’t even give me atleast a good amount i mean seriously 2 little pieces?

We had been wanting to stop by this place for a while — and we’re so glad we finally did! The food is some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s packed with smoky flavor, tastes authentic, and everything was fresh. The meat was tender and perfectly charred — just the way it should be. You know a place is doing barbecue right when the sauces are optional, not necessary.

The only thing I would recommend is improving the Old Fashioneds — they could use a bit more balance and depth.

Other than that, everything was excellent. I’m honestly surprised they’re not more popular. Definitely recommend!

If you’re in Chicago and craving authentic barbecue, Firehouse Barbeque is a must-visit! From the moment I walked in, the service was welcoming and attentive. The staff really know their menu and make great recommendations.

I tried the Smokehouse Combo with 3 meats and 1 side, and it was absolutely outstanding, tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. The portions are generous and the flavors hit

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a true barbecue-house vibe that makes the whole experience even better.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting Chicago, do yourself a favor and stop by Firewater Barbeque. Amazing food, excellent service, and an all-around fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

1st time trying this place. We got a pulled pork/brisket sandwich and the black Angus burger. Both were very good and we loved the fries. Atmosphere is kool. Pickles are excellent as well. We will be back.

The ribs are delicious! If you are looking for a place to eat true smoke BBQ ribs this your place. The only reason why I am giving only 4 stars it’s because the sides are not the good. Specially the Mac & cheese flavor taste spicy nothing than traditional/ regular Mac & cheese. My kids couldn’t eat it.

Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Why is this place not busier than it was? We went around dinner time on Sunday night and it wasn’t busy at all. When you walk in your senses are aroused by the wood smoke bbq scent. We wanted to order one of everything. Which actually we did order quite a bit because everything sounded so good and we definitely had leftovers. We ordered a full slab of ribs, which were so tender and char broiled crispy deliciousness. Best ribs I’ve ever had. We ordered the smoked chicken which was still juicy, we ordered the pulled pork which was delicious and you can add your own barbecue sauce, which they had variety of flavors. The cornbread was one of the best I’ve ever had real moist and dense with real corn inside and the mac & cheese was delicious. I feel like they make it themselves. Highly recommend checking this place out. We did order cocktails, but would not recommend them. We sat next to the fireplace. It was really nice and cozy in there. Plenty of space, seating, tables, big parties, good for all of that.

We were in town for a paintball tournament and decided to give Illinois BBQ a try. Being a bunch of guys from the Carolinas we have high expectations for BBQ. This place did not disappoint.

I ordered wings, smoked chicken, and brisket with sweet potato fries. The brisket and chicken were good but the wings took the show. The wings were large, crispy, and had a ton of flavor. No ranch needed for those. I also got to try the burnt ends which were exceptional.

But… the highlight of the entire meal was the cornbread! This was moist and sweet. Some of the best cornbread I have had in my life. I would order a whole sheet of that and be happy.

I was also given every sauce they had available with no extra charge which was really nice.

Sweet potato fries were cooked good but they do add cinnamon sugar on them so it could be a turn off to some.

The atmosphere was great with a smokey smell inside and clean interior.

Service was great and incredibly fast.

Overall I’m glad we stopped here.
