First time here, and it did not disappoint! Definitely the best seafood you can find in Chico, and the staff is very welcoming. Absolutely amazing atmosphere feels very mom n pop/ 2000’s.We ordered the popcorn shrimp, alaskan cod and clam chowder, highly recommend trying all three. Batter is super crisp and nice and flaky inside on the cod. Not to mention their sourdough and butter is delicious. We will definitely be back !

Lunch menu is reasonably priced. Fish and chips with coleslaw is delicious! Unpretentious and relaxed. Decent beers and you can get a pitcher. I love coming here for lunch. Also makes for good takeout.

Overall, good experience. The food was okay, but nothing amazing. Several items tasted reheated or even from frozen. That’s understandable as the prices were pretty fair. The scallops were breaded and deep fried which I didn’t expect but I’m not complaining because they were really good. The oil in the fryer probably needed changing but it was acceptable. The crab cakes were interesting with a crumb breading and deep fried instead of baked but still tasted good. The chowder was the only thing I didn’t take any home because it really did taste about like canned chowder, so not bad but just not special. The clam strips were great, way more tender than the stuff I can usually get at the store and nice browning. Mom liked the calamari strips but wished they were served with honey mustard. The bread was tough though, so I revitalized out at home with a wet paper towel in the microwave, all fixed! The melted butter was insanely garlicky and the herbs were perfect just overwhelming for what we had. Still, gonna use the leftover on steak and it’s going to be amazing.
The staff was polite and attentive, with no complaints about the service.
I honestly regret not getting the special, clams in white sauce. I bet that would have been the best thing.
Definitely worth trying the place out but unfortunately I can’t quite rave even though I enjoyed it.

I’ve always enjoyed this place. The clam chowder bread bowls are the best in town! I would’ve taken a picture but I scarfed it down too quickly. The waiters are friendly and attentive. The decor on the inside is fun; it’s definitely ocean and ship themed. It’s cozy inside. A great place for dinner on a cold and rainy night. The prices are fair considering how expensive meals get these days. I’ll get a picture of the food next time!

Staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Fish tacos were great. Soup was savory and done just right. So happy to find a place with common sense rules. I will continue to support this family business. My wife and I had a great time looking at the maritime decor.

I love the pelicans roost, it is one if my absolute favorite restaurants to eat at, the chowder is always great and has just the right amount of clams and vegetables. I remember the ild building in Paradise and my family and I would eat there often and even had a family dinner there once with all the grandparents. I will always remember the great decorations and nice employees.

When we come to town we love eating here. The clams, fish and chips, prawns and chips and clam chowder are all good.

Back when I was in high school (pleasant valley high), I desperately needed a job. I applied here because it was right acrossed the street from school, and only a mile from home, so even if I had to work on the weekend, I’d be able to walk or ride a bike. I applied, and checked in on my resume twice a week for the entire school year. I was always told they were not hiring. However, every now and again when I’d go in to check my resume, there would be a new person working there… eventually I got an interview, after 6 months… From what the interviewer said in a phone call after the interview, it came down to me and another guy, neither of us had experience, but they chose him because he was older. Which was dumb, because I did have experience. I worked on my uncles farm every summer since i was 12. But that didnt count as experience apparently. But i went on trying to get hired there for another several months. Anyways, hiring one person over another “because they’re older” is wild. At least I got an interview though.
