The service was fantastic getting greeted right away. The menu looks to be changing as it’s on paper and the selection is diverse. There was no price that I have seen on the menu but I could be wrong.
They serve alcohol which is nice for being in the 21+ crowd as they also have a space next to the pizza shop for hanging out and playing board games and pinball. The drink selection is great for a pizza shop.
The pizza had a great size and smell to it. As we pull the pizza slice away from the other slices the tip just falls with all the toppings and cheese falling onto the pan. After picking up the fallen pieces the pizza had great flavor. The sauce was a bit more sweet and reminded me of beach pizza. The cheese was pulled off the pizza with too much ease. The grease was pouring down the crust and onto the pan. The dough was a bit chewy for a thin crust.
Overall, good experience with the service. The atmosphere was unique and fun. The pizza was okay after picking up the pieces. I would say going there every once and a while is great but nothing I would go out of my way for.
And for those of a certain age craving some vintage 80s-style music (in the view of cassette tapes on the wall), you’ll love that, too.
It’s a small place that feels with a college vibe, but matches any age in style. Four stars for atmosphere only because it’s not an “atmosphere” place– it’s a pizza place supporting the in/out customer.
Definitely coming back…
The slices are thin, and cooked to perfection. The basil isn’t cooked to a burnt crisp, but shredded and placed on top at the end. A cross between a city slice from New York and a fancier neopolitan slice. The sauce was sweet and had a hint of acidity. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but I loved it. Plus, it’s rare you can get by-the-slice anywhere decent.
Service was great, everyone who was working there seemed stoked and were friendly.
The slices are made well. Thin crust, a nice crunch with some pizza oven char on them. The cheese is stretchy but with that still nice solid texture you get in a good NY slice. Their sauce was also excellent. Not too salty, sweet, or heart-burny! Ha!
They also built an excellent little bar counter that was set to open in 2020, but then Covid….so it’s open now, new, and ready for service!
We had Negronis at a bargain $10/cocktail, expertly made with the orange peel rim wipe and twist into the drink. The Margherita slice was awesome. Basil makes me happy. . The pepperoni slice was good too. They slice their pepperoni in a long direction, rather than in circles, which we found unique. Of the two, Margherita was king.
Alexa helped us and was a sweet person. Really kind, helpful, and made us want to come back. We will most definitely be back! I have to try the special Maple Bacon slice by Alexa’s suggestion. I cannot wait.
Thank you all so much. This was a really enjoyable place. Make a quick stop!
I had the maple bacon cheddar slice which was divine with a house spritz. The mix of flavors in that slice were perfect and the sauce tasted super natural and homemade.
Then I went for seconds and had buffalo chicken slice and an espresso martini. I did not love the buffalo slice. It was missing the blue cheese or ranch topping touch in my opinion. The espresso martini was great!
Loved their back patio! If im back in the area I’ll def be back.
Among all six different slices we tried to day I would rank it the following:
1) Margarita ( simple and fresh is the best )
2) Mushroom ( it was the corn that won me over )
3) Bacon ( the sweet sauce? Syrup they added on top was a game changer )
4) Ricotta and sausage
5) Three cheese (FYI. the cheese is strong. Highly recommend for all the cheese connoisseurs out there)
6) Pepperoni (not your typical rounded pepperoni. House special. Still very good but unfortunately had strong competition in this list.)
Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a thin crust, large, New York style pizza in Davis square 🙂
Staff were nice to talk to, slices and beer came quickly. Good prices. Would have stayed for more but would have been found slumped in the corner. So will save it as a place to visit again next time I’m over.
