Chikin Drip in Union City serves chicken strips and sandwiches with different levels of heat. I ordered Combo #1, which came with a chicken sandwich and seasoned crinkle-cut fries. The fries were nice and crunchy, but even though they had seasoning on them, I couldn’t taste much flavor from it.
I got the medium heat chicken sandwich, and I have to say the spice level was much milder than I expected—very little heat to my palate. The chicken itself was juicy, but it lacked some flavor overall. The sauce was okay, not as bold as other chicken spots it was more mayonnaise flavor than anything else, and the seasoning was different than what I’m used to but still decent. One thing I definitely missed was the pickles—my sandwich didn’t have any, and I really missed that extra crunch and tang that usually brings the whole sandwich together.
If I compare this place to Dave’s Hot Chicken, Dave’s is a clear winner when it comes to heat levels, seasoning, and sauce flavor. That said, the atmosphere at Chikin Drip is really cool—the design inside and out is awesome, especially the cool car parked out front. Overall, it’s a nice place to try, but I think the flavors could use a bit more punch.

2/9/26 Monday came along with my 2 coworkers n we all enjoyed the food n super clean atmosphere. Thanks to drip team, keep it up.
11/13/25 Thursday This place use to b a KFC n now Chicken drip, nice heavy rain n windy weather so I tried first time combo #3 n taste super delicious just like Angry Chickz or Dave’s hot chicken. Nice interior, fast service n clean bathroom. Definitely come back again.

This location has opened in Union City, which is the closest so far from my home. I went to the one in San Jose close to the airport and haven’t been there for a while. When I arrived, they have its drive thru, but it’s closed until next week. Honestly, I support this because it brings less traffic inside the lobby, but even without it, there wasn’t gonna be many people until I arrived during peak hours. This is also my first time seeing a drive thru in this kinda restaurant. Perhaps, I should order through that next time I come by.
Just like other Nashville-style chicken restaurant I believe, they have like really aesthetic and colorful designs inside the restaurant. If you go to restaurants like this, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Really brings the vibes of Bay Area due to its multiculturalism.
I like the food here since portion size is right and that I wasn’t too full after finishing the combo (maybe because I didn’t get 2 sliders). I usually like slider and tender since it’s different of how the chicken is eaten and tasted. Usually get mild (not “no spice” due to lack of taste and medium or spicier because I can’t tolerate that kinda spice).

I believe this is where the old Kentucky Fried Chicken KFC was so it’s nice to see a new restaurant finally take its place. The outdoor decor isn’t much different from what was originally there. But they’ve added patio seating. The indoors is where it looks different with a nice epoxy flooring and hand drawn wall art. The staff was welcoming and I got my order within minutes. The chicken was nice and juicy and well seasoned with a medium heat. I’d probably give this place a five stars if it didn’t taste almost exactly like a chicken restaurant that is half a mile away. No, I’m not talking about Popeyes LOL. But, it’s nice to have an alternative from Dave’s Hot. Hopefully they’ll add more to their menu.

It was amazing! I ordered Combo 3 and Combo 4 — both were delicious and full of flavor. The medium spice level is more than enough and hits perfectly. Definitely one of the best spots for halal chicken in the area. Highly recommended!

Chikin Drip is so good! The chicken is crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The sandwiches are stacked and the loaded fries are a must. Super clean spot with fast, friendly service. Definitely one of the best chicken places in Union City — I’ll be back!

The chicken here is absolutely amazing! It’s always crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning is perfect and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Definitely one of my favorite spots when I’m craving good chicken and the drive thru was so fast I’ll be coming back for sure!
