Maybe it’s because I’m from NYC and know how it’s supposed to be, but this ain’t it!
First of all, the portion is mostly rice. The chicken was dry and cut in small pieces rather than shredded. In NYC there’s a guy that is shredding them with his spatula as it cooks. That way you’re not getting dry cubes of chicken! That’s all the chicken in 1 platter and only about 1/3 of the rice. The protein to rice ratio is definitely very disappointing!

I eat at this Halal Guys almost every day and it’s always a great experience. The food is always fresh, portions are generous, and everything tastes just right. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the manager runs the place really well. You can tell they care about their customers. Definitely a five-star spot in Fairfax

I’d give them at least 3.5 stars is I could. I needed a quick lunch, and wanted something different. I’d heard of them, and was excited to try them. I was pleased. Everything is very fresh, looks appealing before and after preparation, and portions are larger than expected. I’m 6’4, 195#. I have a rather fast metabolism, and need my calories regularly throughout the day. On my first visit, I ordered the large combo plate. I couldn’t finish it. I had about 1/4 of it left, maybe a little more. It made for a great snack the next day. I now get the small plate, and it fills me well. A good place with fresh, healthy good, served quickly. I understand why they have the reputation they do. It’s well earned. The photo is the small combo plate partially mixed.

Ordered a combo platter for iftar. Tastes terrible. Guy saturated it in white sauce. All I taste is sauce and rice. Can’t taste the meat with how much sauce there is. Really frustrating to fast all day only to have a terrible meal.

Oh man, Halal food at midnight. The best place. Open til 0200hrs. Great customer service was excellent. Food was incredibly good. I strongly recommend.

When the heck did olives and jalepenos stop being free? Got home and realized I had a platter with green peppers and onions and thats it. Was very disappointed. Not sure if that’s just this location, new policy, or what. But I swear my usual one doesn’t charge for those.
But it also wasn’t super fresh. They had like no one in there but me practically. All the stuff was covered and they had to uncover the bins like they hadn’t been serving many people recently. I went in at like 8pm.
Overall worst halal guys experience I’ve had and it corresponded with my first time at this location. So take it as you will, but I’m going to other Halal guys locations from now on.

I can’t believe my eyes. See picture below that’s the quantity I received from the lovely people serving the food. On top of that it was cold meat. I don’t think the owner is aware of how these employees are ripping people off. Or is it the owners who are instructing the employee to serve 1/4 of the food then what you are truly supposed to get. $9 is what they charged for this portion. Time and date is stamped on the receipt. Hopefully the manager or owner takes responsibility and rectify the issue. Is it too hard to serve a decent portion of food?
Halal guys started from one street cart in NY and now they opened so many branches because we supported them to be able to reach there. But clearly they are not taking care of the customer. Management is welcome to contact me. I won’t be visiting this particular location ever again.

Food is cheap and tastes great. Halal guys is a very simple place you can go to if you want some good food in 5 minutes. Lines may be longish sometimes but they’re usually quick enough that it makes near enough no difference since you’ll stay a max of 5 minutes. Would recommend coming here if you like shwarma.

These guys were nice enough but gave me a disgusting, unwieldy “sandwhich” drenched in sauce, completely overloaded with lettuce and virtually inedible. Literally this is my food as soon as I opened the sandwich, i haven’t even taken a bite. It’s honestly just disrespectful.
