My experience at this location was disappointing, again! And my first visit was at least four years ago, not much has changed. My in-laws live in Brighton and we thought this would be a good place that could accommodate 13 of us. My mother-in-law even called to let them know we would have a large party. The host, and maybe the manger, were not friendly at all and seemed put-out that they had to set up for a large party, then they left us unattended. I had to ask to be served and there was confusion about who would wait on us (and the restaurant was not even half full). Our waitress was pleasant and worked hard but received no help from the other three to four people standing around in front. My burger was missing several of it’s ingredients but I did not feel it was worth asking to have it corrected. I have been to one other location last year and had a similar experience. After this visit, i am surprised you are even in business. You have real management and quality problems. I will say that you have a good ad campaign though as you promote yourself as a legendary burger and beer tavern. The tap beer selection is minimal and the burgers don’t look anything like what is advertised. I don’t see what is so legendary. I do want to add that I “never” comment online, but I was so disappointed that I had to comment here; I did not feel that there was anyone in the restaurant to discuss our experience with. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Root beer wasn’t watery, fries were tasty, hot, fresh n crisp! I tried the Mexi burger hubby had the one with an egg. Both where amazing. Only complaint was the center of burgers, they where pink and we ordered no pink. I mentioned it to the waitress she offered new food, I declined as eating the edges filled me up. She sent a manager over who was kind and apologetic. I assured her it was ok that I was full, she took half of the bill unasked!

I frequently visit the Novi location. The fried artichokes were a bit greasy buy still good. They took a lot of care making my burger and even arranged the pickles and jalapenos in a nice presentation. We got a cupcake for dessert. Although good, it was way too cold. The frosting was rock hard and so was the cake. It needed to be brought to room temp first.
I think this place is better than red robin. The fries are better. The burgers are better…and it’s not a horrible red and yellow color. I like red robin too…but I like it here more.

The food was just alright. The burger patty itself was good. My bun fell apart though, so it was extremely messy to eat.
Our Waitress was not very attentive. We eat early, so it’s not an issue of the palce being crazy packed. She never came back to check how our food came out. And never offered us any drink specials, so I was sad to hear, after we paid, (from the waitress of the table behind us) that I missed out on Short’s Strawberry shortcake Ale.

We just left Bagger Dave’s in Brighton, Mi. Admittedly, we did get there at 9:30pm not knowing closing time was 10. Bar tender glared at us upon entry, no greeting. She seemed extremely displeased we came in. Waited a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us, a nice waitress seated us directly next to the only other table of people inside (one other table outside). We attempted to order beer with our burgers and we were told the bartender isn’t serving anymore which was odd since the table next to us ordered beer as soon as we sat down. After ordering food and WATER, our food came out around 15-20 mins later. One order was completely wrong. We addressed the issue with the waitress, she was very apologetic and put the blame completely on the kitchen. No resolution was offered to us at all. We paid, and walked by the bartender again…you can probably guess who still had an attitude. It sucks, we really wanted to like this place tonight. Disappointed.

I’ve been to this Bagger Dave’s several times since they opened at this location. Our first visit was when the this location first opened. The food was excellent and the service was both fast and friendly. Since then my experience has not been as favorable. I attribute the good first expression to the quality of the set up crew, and to the use of quality ingredients in the menu.
Our last visit, in more ways than one, was on Saturday, November 15th. We didn’t start out with Bagger Dave’s as our destination, but downtown Brighton is quite busy on weekend evenings and after going from one restaurant to another and experiencing standing room only and long wait times, we stopped at Bagger Dave’s. To our surprise, not only was there no wait time, but half of the restaurant was empty. The wait staff was friendly and seating was immediate. This was the high point of our visit.
We started off with a couple of Bagger Dave’s signature cocktails. These were decent and I have no complaints. We also had an appetizer of chicken flat bread which was so over spiced that the only real flavor was of the “signature hot sauce”. That was a disappointment, but since we had never ordered this appetizer before we couldn’t compare it to previous dining experiences. My fiancee ordered a single patty “build your own burger” and I ordered the “Twisted Mac and Cheese entree”. We have both ordered these items before and had been generally satisfied with them. This time however both seemed to be of lesser quality than previously experienced. The burger was cooked to order, but the meat was bland and tasted as if though it was a lower grade of beef than what had been our previous experience. Honestly, Burger King is as good, for a third the cost.
My Twisted Mac and Cheese entree was over cooked, and sadly, was flavorless. My feeling is that cost cutting measures have been put in place and as a result, the quality of the cheese isn’t the same as was originally used when the restaurant first opened. Neither one of us finished our food. The entree portion of the mac and cheese isn’t that large to begin with, but I ate less than half and left the rest to be discarded.
All in all this was a major disappointment. I had hoped to be able to contact Bagger Dave’s to tell them of my experience, however their feedback site, which is apparently the only way to give them feedback has been inaccessible for the past week, Hence this review on Google.
I have learned that if 20 restaurants have waiting lines and no seating, and another restaurant has empty tables and no waiting, then there must be a reason. That reason will seldom be a good one.
To Bagger Dave’s I would just say that operating a restaurant is all about the food. We don’t go out to watch model trains run around the ceiling, or to look at your decor. We go out because we expect to enjoy a good meal. If your standard is mediocrity, then my advice is to keep working at it. You’re almost there.

This was my first and last time here. Waitress never smiled at all. They were not that busy but it took over 45 minutes to get any food, which was slammed down on the table. Burger was ok, not worth the wait. I won’t be back, my waitress will be relieved, since she didn’t seem too enthused about doing her job.

For a gourmet hamburger place, the food was below average. I would put it on par with lower end places like Red Robin. At least red robin gives unlimited French fries. The service was only ok. They told us very late, after other people’s food came, that one item was sold out. Would also stick with the pre-built burgers. Build your own = expensive.

Overrated. Burgers were ok but nothing special. Prices seemed high and portions were small. Waitstaff was trying hard but seemed confused with tablets used to order and general “flow” of the process. Lots of staff gathered at host stand and food pass through acting confused and stressed. Nice idea but needs work and maybe leadership.
