Their Mother of Dragons is hands down the BEST cocktail I’ve ever had. They make the dragon fruit juice fresh, strain it, and finish it with black volcanic salt around the rim, topped with a slice of dragon fruit for presentation. Such a nice touch.
The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing.
The sweet and sour cauliflower was our favorite appetizer. The sauce was creative and clearly made in-house, not your typical out-of-the-bottle version. I really appreciate the intentional effort they put into their recipes. My husband loves the beef tartar. He has ordered it off the regular menu as well as the HH but both portions are so small.
It’s not a cheap place to eat (we’ve been here several times for dinner), but the quality and ambience make it worthwhile. We will be back soon to try their Sunday Fried Chicken Dinner.
Service, however, was a bit hit or miss. Our waitress seemed to disappear for much of the evening and never mentioned the specials, which was disappointing. Meanwhile, the waiter attending the table next to us provided above-and-beyond service, making the contrast hard to ignore.
We ordered the Tilefish and the shrimp and grits, both were well-prepared and flavorful. Heads up the sauce is very heavy on the grits. The sauce was amazing that was served with the Tilefish fish. The portion sizes were very generous and easily large enough to share, which added solid value to the meal.
The food was outstanding. I literally ate every crumb on my plate! The fried rice was especially unique — unlike anything I’ve had before — and every dish was beautifully balanced in flavor and presentation. You can tell a lot of care goes into each detail.
Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
I will be back 1000 times. Thank you chef. Lots of love to you and your team!
Food delicious! Gourmet quality! Drinks were good too
The host was so kind and understanding – he was able to squeeze us in before the busy dinner rush and we were really grateful for it! We had such a lovely dinner and the drinks we ordered were delicious as well. Our server Cisco was so knowledgeable on the menu and really made us feel welcome without rushing us through our dinner. Everything was amazing but the Birria empanadas were the unexpected star of the night. The filling was flavorful, the dough was crisp, and the sauce paired with it was a cherry on top.
We know Valentine’s Day is a chaotic day for the service industry and we were pleasantly surprised at how Driftwood was able to accommodate us last second. We’ll definitely be back!
The setting is intimate and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s the kind of place where neighboring tables say hello and might even inspire your food and drink choices, which I love.
The cocktails are excellent. Fairly priced, high quality, and thoughtfully made.
Instead of ordering separate entrees, my husband and I opted for a few small plates: the steak tartare, sweet and sour cauliflower, and smoked heritage pork jowl fried rice. Everything was delicious, but the standout was without question the steak tartare. It was unlike any I’ve had before. The beer-battered smoked onion petals added a perfectly light crunch that elevated the dish.
We were so impressed by both the food and the service. Zero complaints. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu especially the small plates and some of the larger dishes too.
