TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Great spot for a quick, flavorful meal. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the spice level was actually legit. The sliders and fries were both solid, and the staff kept things moving even though it was busy. Definitely worth checking out if you like hot chicken.

First time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken! It’s absolutely amazing! I tried the 2 tenders meal (mild spice). You get a lot of food for your money! The tenders are huge! Chicken is moist and full of flavor! There are hotter versions but I can’t try those! Fries are seasoned and crunchy, the pickles are great and Dave’s sauce is awesome! Very friendly staff, everything made to order hot and fresh!
Just a little disappointing that the meals do not come with a drink? Otherwise, would have to highly recommend trying this amazing food as soon as possible!

It’s was fine. Chicken was good. Long wait. Tons of “Door Dash” orders at the same time that I felt they were taking priority (regardless, it took about 10 – 15 mins for food). Had to ask for napkins (dispenser was out). For the money, I’d probably just go to a casual sit down place next time.

Dave’s Hot Chicken fulfills a role that I believe has been severely lacking within the game of fast food fried chicken: an establishment that offers both the crispy and well-cooked quality of fried chicken, as well as the search for heat beyond reason that offers flavor and excitement for the palette.
I ordered a #3, 1 tender and slider with fries (extra hot). I was hesitant at first, as while the aroma entering the store was enticing, the price made me skeptical. Upon receiving my order though, all of my fears were absolved.
The presentation alone was beautiful, (see the attached picture) and the flavor and consistency was immaculate. It already met one of my most important criteria for truly great fried chicken: a batter which does not fall apart as soon as the first bite is taken, with the skin tearing off in a clean break. Each piece had the proper ratio of chicken-to-batter, and the heat was absolutely perfect. It built over time, slowly consuming my tongue more and more in the most incredible way. There was also still a lot of flavor to be had, not just hot for the sake of it (another important factor in good hot fried chicken).
The fries were also very well cooked, a batter style, they bring a relief at points when the spice becomes too much. The Daves Sauce, while sweeter than I was expecting, complimented the meal and fries perfectly. It isnt Canes Sauce by any means, but I think it works perfectly in context to the entire meal. Also if youre a pickle lover, this meal is made for you. They offered another relief to the heat that was welcoming in moments of manual breathing with the spice.
Overall, this was a very impressive meal. The staff was nice, and while the atmosphere for me personally is just alright, the food itself is fantastic. It is a tad pricey, I wouldn’t get this all the time, but for a lover of fried chicken and spice, this is something you have to try. I do believe this is something you have to give a full expereince, don’t just grab Daves bites if you haven’t been yet. It’s a very contextual meal, but one that I believe is 100% worth it.

First timer. It was DELICIOUS. I’m super picky about chicken in fast food restaurants. This was 100% real chicken! Lol It was so tender and the sauce stuck to it perfectly. Yummy!
The cashier was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was super clean as well as the bathrooms. I love the bright colors inside and out. It’s just a really fun place to go and have a quick bite.
I’d definitely go back again if I am Willoughby.

Dave’s Hot Chicken does not play around. I pulled up thinking it was gonna be overhyped TikTok food but nah… the flavor hit immediately. The chicken was stupid crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the seasoning was actually seasoning — not that bland fake spicy stuff.
I got the #2 combo and the sliders were PERFECT. The bun is soft, the sauce is crazy addicting, and the pickles + slaw make it hit even harder. Fries? Unreal. They stay crispy and actually taste like something. And the portion sizes? Bro… they feed you like they care.
Also staff was fast, chill, and got everything right.
Zero complaints. Just straight heat.
10/10 — worth every penny. I’m 100% coming back.

First time ordering here. I got the #2 sliders HOT w/ cheese. Amazing taste and texture, crispy and not soggy. If you like spicy, then try the HOT breading. It’s very spicy, but not to the point where you can’t enjoy your food and need to take a drink every bite. I sweated a bit, but ate the 2 sliders without needing a drink. The spice really complimented the sandwich well. The crinkle fries could be a bit more crispy, but they were good. Their signature Dave’s sauce was also a nice treat. Over all the food is 5 stars!
The service was only 4 stars, though. When my sister went to pick it up, she said the staff were crabby. Not a huge deal, as it was 5pm on a Friday, they were probably getting slammed. But still, it’s always nice ordering from smiling and welcoming staff.

I walked into Dave’s thinking I was tough. I walked out rethinking every decision I’ve ever made. And I loved every second of it.
First of all, the chicken? Ridiculously good. Juicy, crispy, and seasoned like it was blessed by a higher power who really wants me to sweat. I got a Medium to play it safe, but Dave’s must’ve heard that and said, “Bet.” My mouth was on fire, but in the kind of way where you keep eating because the pain and the pleasure are best friends.
The fries were perfect, the sauce was addictive, and the sliders?? Let’s just say if someone stole one out of my hand, I would consider it a personal attack worthy of a police report.
Service was fast, friendly, and slightly amused at my confidence. They knew I was about to be humbled, and they let it happen anyway. Respect.
Overall, 10/10 experience. I’ll definitely be back—mostly because I can’t stop thinking about it, but also because my taste buds have trust issues now and demand another round.
