Basic no flavor food and staff not friendly or personable. Cole slaw was dry. Chicken was dry. Burger had no flavor. Chicken fingers were nothing special. Mac n cheese dish was the best out of them all. A .25 cent bottle of Dasani water cost $4.30 each! Every one of the staff acted aggravated and were short with you. Total cost for a family of 4, for basic lunch, over $70. Only bright spot is it was clean and well kept. Go eat at one of the food trucks outside.

Long lines, expensive food….average museum food court experience! However, the chicken sandwich was surprisingly good. It was crispy, juicy, and the sweet sauce was perfect. Surprising!

Very long line for the BBQ and Grill part of the cafe which didn’t seem worth it. I went with the salad bar which had no line, fresh ingredients and a good selection of dressings. Just overpriced at $17/lb. Fine to go to while at the museum but definitely not somewhere to go out of your way for.

I have been to an ample amount of Theme Park and Museum Cafeterias as a means of resting myself to prepare for other ventures to differing exhibits or rides in the case of Milton Hershey’s Theme Park from 1906, Hersheypark that I have last visited in the Trump Administration.
In hindsight, the most recent venture I had to the gracious Smithsonian Museum of American History’s cafeteria adorned with a visit to the greatest Americna History Museum in the Mid-Atlantic Region was a mediocre experience that brought me with adequate nutrients, but a squander of funds in the process, despite the unique touch of a walk through of the anecdotal history of the Lunchbox, from humble beginnings of rusty buckets for agricultural work to feed hungry men carrying items of nutrient worth in the late 19th century in Industrial sectors to the metallic lunchbox of the 1950s and the Countercultural lunchbox design of the 1960s and 1970s decades featuring designs from the Beatles and The Lone Ranger to Get Smart and the A-,Team of the 1980s decade, an exhibit of its own that I found historically significant and an element that all individuals shall check out.
The food, while decent and equipped with ample serving sizes, is relatively expensive, not from the basis of the use of the United States Continental Currency, but through the use of the contemporary United States dollar initially established by Secretary of Treasury, Alexander Hamilton in 1792 after 102 years of the use of differing Spanish currency, the British-based Shilling or the Pound or pence among other forms of currency, but from the basis of a Museum Cafeteria standard, the food was great, and was relatively helpful with providing me with a suffice amount of sustenance to last through my amazing venture, as the Chicken Tenders and French Fries in addition to a Brownie that I found good, in addition, they did not charge me to refill my H20 Bottle, leaving me eccentric despite the absurd price, which I have detracted 2 stars from the review because of the issues involving monetary cost.

The food quality was good on this visit but be prepared if choosing weighed food to pay for the weight of the heavy dishes. Feels a bit cheeky of the museum to use fairly hefty melamine bowls and plates and not tare the scale. In the case of a salad, the bowl weighed about half of the total weight.

Definitely one of those places that’s just there and easier than leaving the museum to eat. The food was alright but not great the receipt I have doesn’t show the pizzas my wife got which were actually pretty good, just took forever. Like I said if you are in the museum and hungry this is pretty much your only option unless you want to go outside and hit food trucks. An apple is $2.20 which I thought was a bit pricey for one apple.

Good food at Museum prices. For example my burger, fries, water, and brownie was about 28 dollars. Think how much delivery would cost, per person, but likely cheaper with membership. Not bad but I prefer the food I can get at the Native American museum.

Its just the common cafeteria you find at public places, nothing special but DO NOT get the cream of broccoli you will not be able to eat it! I was starving and I really tried but I just couldn’t, it was beyond disgusting, did not taste like broccoli, cheese was clumped up and it was NOT creamy at all

They dont weigh the salads correctly. My two kids each got a handful of salad in a very heavy bowl. It added 40 dollars to my bill and the lady said she deducted the weight of the bowl. There is no way two tiny salads should cost $40
